It was around at least 5 years ago and was a fan made cg video of master chief slaughtering some aliens.
Any links would be great, thanks.

lol. Just watched this and I JUST now realized that Oum is the animator for the cinematic stuff for ALL of RvB battle cinematics. I am surprised this video doesn't have more views in that case.

Another person who doesn't know that Monty is the 3D animator for RvB?

It does -that video's just a copy of this (which has over one million views):

The original (which apparently wasn't even posted on YouTube at first?) might have had even more views.

T'was good until it ended. (Not speaking as in I wanted more... Speaking as in the lezzo scene, which ruined it for me.

I agree. It had action, comedy, good animations. But then that happened and it was all ruined...

the poor lighting, low-res textures and lack of atmosphere (issues present in pretty much all of his animations) killed it for me, imo.

Well you have to realize this is a pretty ancient video now and it was one of his earlier works, watch some of his newer stuff like rwby

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2H-eCYP_1tY

And thats new outside of his rvb stuff.

actually, that lacks lighting of any sorts :U

that's pretty new too, and it shares all the issues I listed, sooooo

Just looking at haloid and that megaman one, there is always a kick-ass beast (I'm fine with that) but they both end with the best enemy making friends/making out with the beast. O_o

Just an interesting bit of trivia, the animation was done by Monty Oum, who works for RoosterTeeth now as (I believe) an animator or mocapper.

Both? RvB is made up of in game footage, mo-cap for the basic stuffs in the flashbacks or other scenes and animations for the big fight scenes that wouldn't be possible with mo-cap (unless they were ninjas that could fly). That's my perspective.
