Unless you're talking about the shield bar (which changes color according to your health;the change is kind of hard of to see though)

ONN TOPIC:

I think the old cmt H2 hud with the convenient health meter above the shield was pretty cool. Overall though I think a meter showing you how close you are to DYING should probably not be a tiny insignificant looking bar in the corner of your screen

It's not that it's hard to get "good shaders/bitmaps/graphics", it's that they choose to use OS as a means of showing the possible upgrades available to this age old video game.

Who are they showing it to anyway?
Honestly,I think 50% of all Halo CE players don't even know that OS exists.

OS isn't planned to be used for the classic version, the CMT mod has to use it because lots of the gameplay elements and content is reliant on it. Part of it is the way that the new script functions are linked into the original game.

omg so if the classic versions gonna be unprotected too im gonna have my fun on that bsp messing around. cant wait to play it either! delta halo was always my favorite h2 map anyway.

Have you spoken to 50% of Halo CE players? When I play Halo, there's about a 20% chance of finding someone who actually knows what CMT is.

Don't call that bull. That is what the situation is. Not that many people even know about CMT. They don't need to know what OS is if they don't even know about any of the teams that make OS mods.

*yawn* Just want to put this out there so people don't flip out on me if this happens, but if we can extract H2 cutscene animations, it is likely the classic version will have to use OS due to animation limits in stock H1.

No, I highly doubt more than 50% of all HCE players know about CMT. If you started asking a bunch of random players on random servers if they know about CMT, I'd be willing bet that less than 40% of them would say yes.

But anyway, my point is that not that many people even know about CMT or any other mod here for that matter. So why does it matter if they know about OS?

OS is not obscure. Halo modding is obscure. Get it right. I can quite easily guarantee that anybody that follows CMT knows about OS, and that isn't affected by OS existing. That's affected by whether they'd have bothered to follow CMT anyway. CMT's made it quite clear what OS is so anyone who actually cares about CMT or Halo modding in general is very likely to know what OS is.

This idea that OS is obscure is absolutely ridiculous. Anyone that's seen Halomaps, Halomods or Modacity and follows modding is likely to know about it. Halo modding in general is obscure. OS isn't well known to all HCE players because the forums where it's shown aren't well known.

as I was typing the original post I had a feeling he'd probably respond when he got word of my posts, ego was too big to just keep on ignoring the forums once he was called out.

You can give your respect to those people, but I don't think you're right in doing it. A person should be judged by who he/she is, not by what they can create.

Narrow-minded. It depends on the context and purpose of the judgement.
Here we have a forum in which work gets presented by members. It is a display of skill and creativity. Therefore that should be the primary thing to judge.

In general both are interwoven, what they can create will partially be of an influence to who they are and vice versa.

Well, what can I say, I 110 percent disagree with you. I'm not materialistic and don't care what they can do or create. I judge everyone on an equal playing field by personality. Maybe I am narrow minded in that respect, but the way you decide whether a person is worthy of respect or not isn't something you should be open minded about. If a man is jackass but builds a charity am I going to respect him for building a charity? I'll respect his act, but in the end that person is the same jackass as he was before, and I still won't respect him.

Yes, it is a very good thing to judge everyone on an equal playing field. I treat everyone the same. Ideals of friendship or loyalty are stupid if those you're loyal to decide to start being jackasses.

However, everybody should be judged by every aspect of their life(except their past). Not just their personality. Somebody could be entirely silent and closed off from society yet be one of the greatest inventors of our time. Should they be shunned and disrespected just because of their shyness or should they be respected by their actions of inventing great devices which all of society benefit from?

Please also include the future.

It would be more fair to judge every aspect,rather than just a few.

We post in these forums too.Not everyone shows off their creations,assuming that they have any.
