It looks like a few filters in Photoshop imo. If not, then probably what M00kz said. Either way they look pretty cool though.

GAIGHER, what the heck are you going on about? I don't even understand what you're trying to prove. What debate? All you did was list those pictures backwards and say "debate is on".

GAIGHER why are you linking my images from a different url, and just listing them backwards...

Any image requests?

I think he wants you to post a video of you painting, because he thinks this could be done by a program?

I see no reason that he should do any such thing :)
Gaiger, go do something yourself and make a video from it, then the OP will tell you what he thinks of that.
He has nothing to prove to you or me or anyone, but you seem to think you have a point about something, so you make your point or let him be.

I dunno, man. through all my efforts with photoshop and every filter available, I can not recreate that style at all. seems pretty legit, especially with the progress images.

Or perhaps he's just really good at drawing this way? You can't judge the legitimacy of a painting method unless you're the person that's using it well. Just because a lot of artists including yourself don't find a workflow like that efficient, doesn't mean a few artists can't. Not everyone uses the same methods of drawing or painting. If they did, then developers of applications like Photoshop would have a much easier time developing methods of copying human artists.

There are photographers out there that sell hundreds of 4x6s at a dollar apiece. And easily paid off their equipment with that method

First of all, I have not once said that I paint these by hand. Second, I'll take my work elsewhere.

no you did not.

you said you drew them, implying using a hand and a drawing utensil. please take your work elsewhere.

looking at your blog, you seem to simply recreate images sent to you - not even keeping the whole brushstroke thing consistent, most of your work seems to be scratchy duplicates of the original, which in my mind does not constitute applause or donations. putting images through a noise filter, even if done by hand, is no major feat or talent. wherever you go next, I hope the people you present this stuff to realize the same thing. you didn't even try to defend your own work.

you're charging $20.00 for these? only $20.00? and pumping these out seemingly daily like they're skittles? a professional who goes to school for years and years for these kinds of artistic skills wouldn't be able to accomplish that! and they sure as hell wouldn't be charging any less than $250 for a day's worth of work!

there's no doubt in my mind you're some hack "artist" using filters on screenshots and trying to make a quick buck off the naive for as little effort as you can. you should be ashamed. you have no right to call yourself an "artist."
