at the moment there is no release date, however we are getting ready for a big beta test which will help us to determine what all is left to do on the map.

The weaponset is very near complete (all of the weapons are modelled and textured, and all but the proton charges are in-game.)

I posted an update to our moddb page showing renders of each weapon with some description. Check it out here:

Well, its been far to long since our last update. SO... lets start with some pics!

Yes that is right, we now have a custom Storm trooper model for Halo Star Wars. No more Master Chief!

In addition to this development we have created an entirely custom HUD complete with HUD messages for all of the vehicles and weapons. We have also been fixing up old textures, adjusting normals, adding ambient sounds, working on small (but important) details, and all around polishing things up.

We have some very exciting news coming up in the near future, so don't give up on us yet!

Also check out our revamped moddb page here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/halo-star-wars

(news update is currently awaiting authorization there)

Excellent! Does it use the spartan animations? or do you have a custom set made for it.

It is a mix, some default animations and some custom ones.

So do we

And this was only one of two really big developments since our last update. The next one isn't quite ready to be announced yet.

Wow! Awesome, thanks! We had a blast burning ourselves out in preparation for CE3 last year, lol.

Believe it or not the map has had some tremendous improvements since CE3 2012, we are working on a big change at the moment. Hopefully soon we can update and show all of the great progress.

Hey if you want to get a perfect light white bitmaps then markers for lens flares?mb saber swing trail effect, attach a semi transperent gradient fade skinned flag onto it, and set the fade scale on the shader tag A or B or something and make the scale function on the tag to overheat or illumitation, then set each swing to cause 100% heat or illuminate so it shows the flag when u swing the saber to get a nice light saber trail effect

Edit:Also...

You should use datacrons for power ups like from sw the old republic.
thay are realy easy to make. just boxes with diffent effect's and textures applied.

I may be able to get the textures.

purple is willpower. (speed or increased attack)
green endurance. (oversheld)
blue is matrix shard. (invisable)
or you could make these directly affect the light sabers.
but not sure if that's possible.

Edit:

I have ANM Tie fighter 4u!!!! =)

Public Beta Launch! Sometime tonight our OS Server will be hosting public betas for anyone with Open Sauce. Yoda and I are very excited to finally release our project for everyone to enjoy but more important we are anxious to hear everyone's feedback.

Our map will be distributed by us ONLY with our dedicated server ingame-mapdownloading feature. We believe using the server to distribute the betas will help prevent a flood of different map versions floating around on the internet. These betas will evolve with time and the OS Server will be a great way to manage the distributions.

Please keep in mind this is a beta and we never had any real testing with large numbers of people within the map so were not really sure what to expect. All we can say is we are very excited to be at this point in our project and can't wait to see how things evolve from here.

The Halo StarWars Mapping team wants to thank everyone for their participation in these betas and look forward to hearing everyone's feedback.

Please report all feedback at discussion.halostarwars.com

That's correct, as of right now HaloStarWars is strictly a .YELO map file and OS will be required to play the betas. Our beta's will be running 24/7 for months to come!

If I'm correct, I think HAC2 needs to be disabled to join a OS server.

Deathkarts will be up for another hour or so and then soon HaloStarWars will be available.

And what if I don't use HAC 2, then download the map with OS, leave and close Halo, install HAC 2 and then join again?

I mean, the issue is the auto-download function of both programs or OS servers in general?

I might be wrong and maybe HAC2 and OS can play nice together but I think you'll have issues joining the server with HAC2. I hope I'm wrong, we'll see.
