I dont get it. People play and host servers that use the default maps for custom edition, shouldnt they use custom maps?

They use default map because every 1 has got them.

everyone has the original halo. you need it for custom edition. why not play that?

A few people do play it. But most people pc can run halo ce alot better than halo fv. halo fv i get 15fps halo ce 34fps.

Mexi... I mean... "people without actual keys who pirate the game" have limited map availability, if they do not have the hack to allow for all maps, that keeps them limited to the standard maps if I am not mistaken.

Because alot of youtube people had the bright idea to make 5+ minute commercials for Halo CE stating that it has less lag, and never actually explaining how to get maps.

i really wish people would start playing custom maps again, i miss the old days

Why not organize something, then? Maybe get some people together who would be willing to host some custom map cycles or something.

I still have a 10 player gameserver server at my disposal at least until september. It rarely gets used so if anyone wants to get something together, I'll get ya an rcon and set up whatever maps you want on it.

Hot damn. If I used eliteslashers server, we could all beta play the H2 elite maps I've been working on :O

You could use mine if you needed it as well.

im hoping to get 9 dedi up soon. about 4 of them running custom.

I want to do that.

we should get some custom map servers up if we can, we should use maps that get 10,000 + downloads

meh, 10000+ DL doesn't mean as much as it does anymore. Sure, a few of them are good, but many of them were from the days when people were like. "OMG It's a custom map! It's better no matter what the gameplay because it's new." Just got to find really good maps with great gameplay.

The person who made this obviously did a lot of work, and it looked very fun to play.

Quite a few people think Slappy's Valhalla map is badly made/not as good as they expected but I still want to play that map. http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=6207
Zteam's Halo 2 maps could also be hosted instead if you guys really don't like it.

Then if you do get servers or a few of us can host them why not call them http://hce.halomaps.org/ or somthing like that. That way every one will know how to get maps. hopful more people will come to the site and download custom maps

if you've gotten halo CE, you know of that site though. The only way people would get to know about it is if ppl went into regular halo PC and made these servers.

Anyway, I think spreading the word on Halo PC is the best idea. If Halo PC clans agree, we could spread the word through clans.
I've actually met Halo PC server hosts who don't know about CE. Perhaps if they know about CE and download it, we can move Halo PC servers to CE.

:) that would be so cool. But halo fv has like 2000 players on it. But you are all forgetting about halo trial. normal it has 1000 + players on it.

meh doubt it. So many things have been tried to get halo CE back to the forefront, but because of so many issues still with MP, the only thing that has gotten any attention is SP.

because custom maps NEVER beats classic maps..
