Just a sky replacement tag I made in an hour. Pics: Sorry for only having two pictures, but it seems that Imageshack now forces you to register to view images (I managed to sneak past and get these two. Since my photoshop skills aren't the best, I couldn't add fire and red on the rings to make it look cool (like a molten planet) therefore, the sky is based on a time when all that cooled and space was normal again (with the exception of the destroyed ring). I used a blending option on the ring layer to simulate the sky's blue haze and rendered the D40 cinematic destroyed ring in 3dsmax. http://www.mediafire.com/?crod0mhy8810dzj Already uploaded to Halomaps. Thank you Dennis for making files easy to upload (no that's not sarcasm).

I like it, could be used for a map where the forces left behind on the ring fight to the death.

Is the file size small? I could use a simple sky to make my cache file have more room for other stuff.

I don't like how light it is. I'd prefer it darker.
All in all though, pretty good. Keep up the good work, Jeeeesseee.

nice sky work jesse, if you prefer not to have to register with imageshack, then use tinypic http://tinypic.com/ this needs no registry or sign in to use it, but i'm sure this will eventually change just like imageshack has done.

Wesker if you do, maybe add red-hot areas from where the ring got snapped, or show metal support struts or something, kinda like in Halo 3 :\

The image probably doesn't exist anymore. Hopefully a few can remember my photoshop of someone's flood ghost. I pretty much added spark areas and burnt/destroyed interior with red dot and yellow look. But the thing about a blue sky is that it makes just about everything in the sky look blue*science*. The best/real life effect we can do is add more particles and space rummage of the broken parts. If there were some closer pieces of the ring in the map area, probably could have a red sky effect. And that will allow the yellow ember burning effect. btw some reference Edited by Wesker on Apr 25, 2012 at 03:08 AM
