The ZTEAM Members,

ShadowSpartan

- Extracting Halo Reach Model and Bitmaps

ChockingVictim22

- Scripting the tag to work like Halo Reach and Also Shaders ( OS )

CtrlAltDestr0y

- In-Gaming the Model along with its bitmaps and tagging and particle and fx and also tagging.

,

Well i know someone,

Clonetrooper163

- Extracting Halo Reach Model and Bitmaps

Kirby

- Scripting the tag so it can act like Halo Reach

Ifafudafi

- Particles and FX

Smiley

- Tagging

^DO never listen to him or trust him. See how pointless he is.

I think you can make this with an invisible projectile, which creates an effect when exploding. That effects spawns some rockets oriented to the ground, and you're done !

You can also create something with a model showing fake projectile contrails, and generating random explosions around the projectile impact point. It would be less nice but work all the time.

Or you can mix both methods. The first one seems more legit because you're supposed to use this in large opened areas...

How do you know that the guy is lying? He seems to know a lot about the on-goings of teams like Zteam(considering the fact that he is able to rip them all). Also, scripting tags is never a good idea. You could just have the gun shoot a projectile that shoots another projectile that goes vertically upwards with a red contrail(for the laser). Then have that projectile explode into a cluster of rockets that drops vertically downwards.

I was thinking of doing this awhile ago, but i then lacked the skill level to do so. Now that i know a little scripting i may be able to do it. What i was thinking of was like you were saying, the invisible projectile that does the explosion effect and tricks your eye into thinking it's seeing the projectiles coming from space. Then have the projectile have a light shining from it facing downward that shows you the area that it will effect. then have a simple script that attaches a nav point to the projectile to show you what you've marked.

Only problem i have is i don't know how to attach a nav point to a projectile.

Ambush has a simpler and less advanced version of this but still seems to work in a very similar way. Not sure who the author is though and can't be bothered to check. Search it on Halomaps.

Couldn't you just put the primary trigger in the sky and make the .weapon tag's projectile a rocket? Granted you couldn't choose the distance, but there's no clear evidence you can with the target locator in that video, either.

There are two similar weapons which I have encountered in game before: the binoculars from ambush and the ICBM launcher from Zanzibar intense. Both weapons controlled where the explosion hit based on the player looking up or down while firing. I think these weapons had a node hovering high above the players head. Every time the player fired an effect would play on the node with the check box "faces down regardless of location" ticked. The effect would fire an explosive projectile down, which would look like artillery or a missile.

Did everyone just miss this post? That's exactly how I always planned to make it anyway.

O)h yeah, i forgot i made this awhile back, never got it perfect because i didn't work with it for long enough, though. Lol. No it's not as good as that, and it used the plasma pistol as the weapon, and no i'm not releasing it, because it was unfinished and i'm to busy right now to fix it.

What? i wasn't trolling, i swear. i made the plasma pistol shoot a projectile with a light volume that had a bitmap of a diamond shape so it looked like it had a nav point on it, then i made it so it waited like 10 seconds and it detonated, the detonation effect was a few rocket explosion effects set to wait different times, and each one had a matching projectile set to be facing down that had a light volume on it, trying to make it look like it was fired from the sky. if you still don't believe me, i'll post a vid for ya. Gimmy 20 min from the time this was posted and i should be right back. >:)

Looking out from the Marine base it is in the far right corner of the map, under a little archway type thing in one of the buildings (more like a short tunnel through one of the buildings I guess, idk, but you can't miss it just head to that corner of the map.). It looks like a pair of binoculars.

Doesn't the all_weapons cheat spawn it?
I used it but can't find it...

No,it probably wasn't listed in the globals.ONLY weapons that are included on the globals are spawned with that cheat.
