Noob question: how does one get vray for max? Is it a thing one has to purchase?

Can i get the rigged 3d model with textures of these yet?

My computer runs on Ubuntu now because I had a virus on it before and I wasn't dishing out 150$ for another copy of Windows 7. Blender's the only thing I can use now.

It was a 6 year old custom PC that I had suped up. There was a sticker on there but the serial number is no use since I don't have the Win7 backup disc anymore. I'm currently trying to resolve this, via, the "P-Word"

Out of all the desktop enviroments, idk why you choose unity.. Anyways, if you are looking for a copy of windows to dual boot with, Microsoft does have ISOs avalible for all the versions of windows, just google up the microsoft downloads to find a legitimate version (since as far as I know, they don't post it on their home page, only people with MSDN accounts and stuff directly receive the links, although they are valid for anyone)

Anyways, I have had 3dsmax 8 work in linux before, but it all depends on the version of wine. Out of everytime ive tried it, I've only had it work twice. Once back in high school, and once at the start of college. Any other times ive installed it, it didnt work. Anyways, WineHQ notes that if you copy an already installed copy that you just move over to the linux hard drive, that it apparently should work quite well.

Skype has great voip quality but horrible text chat, file transfer, ui, sound notifications, and doesn't like being closed.

Wel'p nevermind. It was something wrong with the boot of the computer in general. When I turn it on, it won't even go to splash screen anymore. It literally just goes black and sits there like that for a while. I can still use my modifier button to do things like turning up the brightness on my computer and turning on the external light but It won't even respond If I try to do a "Ctrl-Alt+X" combination. I've got three discs with three different OS' set to be booted onto my computer but none of them are working, although, my computer was defaulted to boot via DVD/CD-R anyhow. It's safe to say that I'm stumped now unless I can do a factory setting boot of that computer while it's off or repair it from a disc.

UI is fine, and I turn sound notifications off for all my IM programs. Personally, I hate beeping sounds from IMs. File transfer is much more reliable than xfire, that's for sure. I think the main reason I use skype is for voice chat, nowadays I'm too lazy to type.

I know. I just like being technical about things. Anyways, my PC won't even boot when I took out the HDD and tried to force it to run on a CD. There's something screwy with the BIOS and I can't fix it unless the computer's on. It's safe to say this computer's broken beyond repair.
