So is there a limit to the number of trigger volumes that I can have in a map that will crash the game or crash Sapien?

HEK seems to limit it at 256. So, I think you can basically consider that unlimited lol, when will you ever need more than 256 trigger volumes?

Yeah, that is basically unlimited. Only Chuck Norris would ever use more than 256 :P

Bruce Lee on the other hand... actually did some hardcore kung fu. I heard he had to slow his punches so that the camera could actually catch his movement.

I actually need close to 750 Trigger Volumes. I know that probably won't make sense to you guys, but it's true. Is there a hack that could allow more? And because I now I will use at least 256 trigger volumes is there a trick I can do that will allow me to create these in max instead of doing it in sapien? If it's single player.... can't you just split up the BSPs? Then use up to 250 trigger volumes for each BSP.

Anyways, using child scenarios you could create more for the map (256 per scenario you add), but idk what halo will think of it. And trigger volumes are added in sapien, there isn't anything to do them in max, because they aren't part of the BSP, they are part of the scenario; they are like any other item you add like bipeds or scenery. normal guerilla can't do anything, but OS guerilla had all the editable fields. If you reallllllyy hate placing them in sapien, I guess you could mathematically place them in guerilla *shrug* idk if this feature is in the beta for OSHEK, or if its just in the newer releases.

I want to add, it's best to officially complete your BSP before ever placing a Trigger Volume. Reexporting the BSP even to the same coordinates will complete displace itself if you reload it into the scenario tag. Nothing will be in the same spot as you left it before. You may also need to plan how large your BSP is and where to place such triggers. If your Trigger Volume is too large, it may visual hickup and disappear while dragging out a side of it.

I've always had my bsp re-exports be exactly where they were before given I haven't moved the verts...? And try to keep your trigger volumes inside the bsp. Like scenery, volumes whose origin is outside the bsp will disappear. You can tell if they are inside or outside the bsp in sapien-- stuff outside the bsp has a red no sign next to it in the hierarchy window.
