We're moving away from just copying other games content. Plus the mauler isn't a good weapon. We don't have dual wielding implemented, and theres nothing fun about enemy's having super powerful short range weapons.
Edit: Shader extensions are always changing, the pictures you saw were early WIP, the whole shader model system looks nothing like anything you've seen in Halo PC before. I'd say it's fair to say we're creeping up on halo 3 quality shaders, we've already surpassed H2's. Edited by Masters1337 on Sep 28, 2011 at 12:47 AM

There's a lot of stuff that would have to be done between making a proof of concept work in game. Plus the way that works would rape our tagspace. Each combo needs it's own model and anim tags, both of which would be larger than any single weapon animation tag. We have about 6 weapons that would be dual wieldable, so you can see how quickly we would lose space. Dual wielding is something that could be done given enough work, but as of now we have no plans to incorporate it into our mod.

Have you considered that he simply lied? As far as I know he only meant for zekilk to know, and zekilk "entrusted" me with this information. Once he told me about their plans to do some massive future trolling of halomaps I thought it was a bit over the top, so here you have it.

Hot damn, that is amazing, but I do agree with tiel, I think the hexagon pattern is a little too overstated. It just seems like all the lines are a little too thick to me :\

Third grenade i'm guessing is specifically the BRGs? And that looks pretty damn good, but i agree with ICEE in that it looks too obtrusive, thin the lines out a bit.

For some reason it strikes me as rather cartoony, I'd expect it in a cell-shaded graphics style basically. Not that it doesn't look good and/or original, just find it cartoony.
And as the others said, personally I would lose the hexagons alltogether.

Like ICEE said, lines are too thick and bold. The HUD all together seems crammed together and loses the simple and clean look of the Halo 1 HUD, making it seem all together large and taking up a bit to much space on the screen.

Yes, the lines are quite thick, or maybe just bright. I'd like to see them thinner or darker. I dislike the idea of a hand icon. Better to just leave it blank. On the other hand, weapon meter and crosshair are amazing.

I really like the HUD but there is a few things that could be improved.
Firstly it's a bit to hard to relize which bar is witch for the health and shield but it's probably just hard because its black and white.
Secondly the BRG icon looks quite small compared to the grenades mabye you could show like a little bit of the gun its attached to?
Thirdly I don't think you really need 3 digits for the grenade count mabye just take it down to 2 digits.
I really like the AR crosshair I hope your using that in the final product! Over all it's a really good HUD great job guys.
And one last thing I was just wondering if you could make it that you can lower your gun via OS and by lowering your gun like they do in machinimas (not sure I spelt that right) you don't have to and I wouldn't really care if you didn't put in but it would be really cool if you did. I think the shields are the hexagon-filled bars, and the health are the bars within that. Interesting concept, but there really is too much of hexagon going on in there - along with the lines being a little too thick.

You can only do it in the Halo 1 engine by actually moving your mouse and looking down at the ground with a pistol I was suggesting that they could mod it with open source since it is an engine modding software. An you didn't say that you said "Look down to lower it." QUOTE I was asking if they could lower it as in how you do it in halo 2, 3, ODST, Reach etc.

Yes ok, I do admit I was raging a little bit over the top there, but it's not just as easy as making the actual modeling you need to do all the scripting to make it so when you press this button it activates besides as I said in my first post relating this I don't really care if they don't make it I was saying it would be cool if they did do it. Can we please end the raging and get back on topic? P.S.
