I'm not sure if it was asked before. But what is with the lack of detail objects for the halo mission? Didn't you guys have grass detail objects before? Did it cause performance issues?

We have them, they just don't stand out well against the more busy textures we have on A30.

I've been prepping for a launch party with all my friends :D

(IMG is a little dark, but its basically SPV3 running on my TV)

Was glad to play a minor part in the mod, pretty excited to work on part 2 and have a bigger role.

no flanker, you are not invited to my party, the eyebrows are there.

I don't understand the hype for this.

Seriously.

Its the same old campaign revamped and yes its revamped well but it isn't completely new.

Some time in the future I would hope to see a completely new story line from the country music mapping team instead of an augumented one.

The sad reality of HEK is that rebuilding the BSP structure deletes the detail objects.

The only time I had detail objects disappear was when I edited background sounds/sound environments. Adding one detail object after changing sound stuff fixes this issue.

I think the hype is about them actually finishing something finally.

Well that is unfortunate. Good to know!

The appeal of it from the start is to take what has arguably been the best campaign, and integrate the things people loved and wanted to see. It's tough making a custom campaign, It's hard to tackle so many missions and give them each such a distinct feel, something that probably only CE, Reach and H4 to an extent were able to pull off.

I think SPV3 and CE3 are some of the best things to happen to the modding community (not counting essential tools like HEK, HEK+ and Kornman's Guerilla (maybe OS too))

EDIT: And don't forget Foundry!

It'll be out on June 25th, and then likely some patches a month later. Right now we still have a few music issues to figure out, and a small stability fix for A30.
No no no not the patches again, can't download the same thing again..not at all in my 50-250 kbps connection, it will take hours to download the whole 4(excluding evolved) maps.

When we say patches, we mean patches. maps for SPV3 range between 88-200mb in size. The shared resources which hold the sounds and bitmaps are nearly 2gb in size and only need to be downloaded once upon release, and will likely need to be downloaded again for SPV3 part 2 in a year or so.

Expecting a patch after an MP release is reasonable. How would SP end up having issues after release? You don't have faith in the yes men you picked for beta testers?

2-3GB release you say? You better get a torrent set up for that.
Edited by LegitGameReviews on Jun 21, 2016 at 08:48 PM

You never know what bugs/issues can pop up once open to the wild. You can only work on a map for so long and then you gotta eventually release it. TSC:E had a few updated files.

I've been saying this for years but apparently people like replaying the same campaign hundreds of times over and over. It's a great campaign but c'mon, it gets quite stale after a while.

I completely agree. We sinned against this with Lumoria due to wanting to hit a specific release date. But in our defence we did have much more limited time and much less testers (mainly ourselves).

at my 50 - 250 kbps network? HELL NOOOO. Even downloading 1 gb is much for me.

Anyway, let's hope Cmt will highly, really highly compress the mod. Is it possible below 1 gb?

Umm, unless you have a data limit; what's the problem? Just leave the download running for a day or two. I do it all the time, as my connection's pretty awful too. Sometimes, I leave downloads running for a week or longer at a time. (though they were on Steam, so I was able to pause if necessary)

So if I downloaded it as soon as it became available, I could beat the entire thing before you guys finished downloading? 3GB is like a 15 minute download. Fiber for the win.

FTFY, worse- I have a data limit. 3 to 5 gbs per month, but this time I got 2 gb :( also regular internet disconnections are taking place...wait untill I get 4G connection

Do most of you guys use 360 controllers in CE? Ive always just used mouse and keyboard. Apparently CMT has spv3 dialed in to feel like it did on the xbox. I may just go buy a new 360 controller for this(my old one died.) I've been using the steam controller a lot lately, and it even feels pretty good(to me) in halo ce.

Nah, just need to ditch TalkTalk. Technically meant to be on a fiber package but they're being arses and not actually setting it up, so I'm still on an old connection.

Better to just use an XB1 controller, but 360 should work just as well.

The zip for the mod contents is 1.18gb (hopefully will be down to 1.17 for release)
The rar for the mod contents is 1.05.

We'll probably just release the zip, although I'll see how much a 7zi file shaves off.

Final beta is going out to testers in a few moments. The only changes to release will likely be some editing in the terminals, and lowering the spec SMG volume.
