Be bothered! Go install ad blocker ultimate Firefox extension and change your world! No more ads of any kind! I won't lie I am somewhat partial to the funny lewd anime mmorpg ads which occasionally spring up from time to time. And I do occasionally like to fantasize that the hot singles within a 1.1 mile radius of my location are infact looking to hook up with me. Edited by Super Flanker on Jun 24, 2016 at 02:02 PM

that shouldn't be happening unless activated in another map. But in console type set developer_mode 0
Bug reports are on the subreddit, crashing when falling through the map is a known issue and will hopefully be fixed in the upcoming patch.

I'd say that if it's possible, upload a screenshot or video to show the bug.
We'll do our best to patch any bugs, so more detail = better.

If you are on W10 or 8 it is probably defaulting to the integrated GPU. Check your nvidia control panel settings.

Edited by Oskarmandude on Jun 25, 2016 at 03:47 AM The reality is that Halo CE is simply using an outdated engine that doesn't use modern techniques. Thus it will perform less optimally than modern games, and more noticeably so when trying to push this engine to its limits. Wether an engine will perform optimally or not is no where related to the age of the engine. A good comparison is IGI 2 and COD AW. IGI 2 runs well on even oldest of machines but COD AW lags like hell on top config PCs as well. SPV3s performance is not related to how old an engine it uses, considering it runs perfectly on my pc.

I use an AMD GPU and I have no integrated GPU. Edited by Oskarmandude on Jun 25, 2016 at 07:45 AM Play around with HCE settings as well as your AMD CCC or whatever it's called now. I had some issue with TSC:E when I first ran it, but I got it working. That was on a R9 7770, which was some time ago so the issues may actually be different. My R9 270X has run it fine (haven't played this as my CPU has some, let's just say bridged connections inside) other than issues with eyefinity. Halo CE does not like to run across three screens. It's annoying. Somebody fix this. Looking at you, Open Sauce. I'll see if I still have my 4670 (and enough some spare parts for another machine) and see if that'll handle it, or what can make it go. That'll probably be a little while though. E: Actually, I'll test it on my laptop since it's got a HD 5500, and that's probably closer to what you have. It'll be awhile though. I was most definitely not implying the age of the engine is the only cause of the problem. Several things are at play here. I merely stated that the age of the engine plays a role here. Is it the only role? Most likely not. Quote: --- Original message by: sbdjazz Wether an engine will perform optimally or not is no where related to the age of the engine. Of course it is related. Not exactly true. Take CryEngine 2 for example, its an unoptimized engine that still struggles to this day to run efficently (eg Crysis). Considering DaLode has actually built an engine in the past, he may know a thing or two!!

I know that you've recieved a lot of hate and team problems (TSC:e team quitting) throughout the development of SPV3, so I respect it that you went on making this project, I'm very happy that it's out and I can't wait for part 2 :)

I agree with you, just like you, all of us want new softwares to perform better than the old, but in reality in half of the cases it doesn't happen (May be not the case of your engine and excluding exceptions). About SPV3 there is almost nothing we can really do about this, unless someone makes the next gen open sauce. Well, I found a few solutions of lagging or stuttering in Halo CE OS. Usually in OS, the motion blur effect is handle mostly by the CPU instead of the GPU. I often found the CPU readings spike when rendering motion blur and the moment it reaches 92-98%, it lags like anything (may be not the case for every one). Lowering motion blur or disabling it keep the CPU at 35-50% and the game runs like butter (no lags). In SPV3, lot things get loaded, apply LAA Large Address Aware on HaloCE.exe, causes the game to utilise more than 2GB of RAM. Reduces occasional pauses, well not that effective. You can give it a try ,its safe. ATI Radeon users can enable crossfireX if using 2 GPUs. Turn on Shader Cache for HaloCE.exe profile, switch all settings to High Performance mode. NVidia might have similar things. Hope this helps! Goodluck!

A better example would be the source 1 engine that is for the most part still largely single threaded. Edited by ghost901 on Jun 25, 2016 at 11:43 AM

My MacBook Pro 13 inch model generally gets 60 fps at 1920 x 1080 in SPV3.
The second BSP area in Halo (second mission) brings me down to about 20 fps at times.

No, no no. You're turning it around here. What you are saying is that it is completely, one hundred percent, unrelated. Explain to me how it is, again, one hundred percent, unrelated. Your argument is simply "it works for me, so it should work for you". If only the world of game engines and hardware was that simple.
Oh what a lovely world that would be indeed. How that would've saved me tons of time when making a rendering engine using OpenGL. But let's not get into that. Basically you just have no idea what you're talking about, and let's leave it at that.

Yeah well this could as well be his GPU that is not properly optimised for older games, it seems Nvidia likes to do this, I think that'd be a more plausible explanation than just "lol engine too old".
