Hey guys, this is something that Shade and I worked on a while ago and have actually had ingame for some time now. These are our versions of the halo reach grenades.

Feel free to use them, edit them, and really just use them as you wish. this is both plasma as well as frag.

PLEASE NOTE: These have not been done with LODs, I am considering doing them myself and then uploading the updated GBX, but I am not sure when exactly I will be doing that. Hopefully soon. Other than that all other aspects of the grenades have been made as close to halo reach as possible. If you find anything wrong with these please feel free to let me know and I will try to tell you where you messed up because these are tested to work right I am pretty sure.

Custom contrails for the grenades are also in the tags. Frag grenades go a bit further and are a bit lighter (I forgot by how much), same with plasma grenades.

No custom effects for the grenades. Sorry :( If I were to make custom effects, it would only be for the plasma grenade active, THAT'S IF... people want that.

I'm thinking a big reason for that look is because Bungie never had an engine before Halo Reach's that allowed as many polies. In other words, I think they did it just because they finally could. :P

If you're talking about Bungies models, it was most likely what darkhalo said, they were finally able to create some gorgeous looking hipoly models, I prefer them to the other halo weapons.

@ Hydro: Yup i modeled the frag as well as made the base textures for it. Shade added some texture magic to both of them though that I hadn't really experimented with and he made them look insane. A lot of credit here really goes to Shade.

@spartan314: Heh! I have issues with replying on xfire sometimes. Ever since I joined my new clan AAA, I have been slightly preoccupied and paying more attention to our teamspeak and steam. Plus the fact that I had some spamming issues before I keep xfire sounds off most of the time. :/

How can I change the explosion so that it looks like the H3 maps?

Oh you guys can add custom effects and such if you wish, just be sure to remember who made the grenades themselves ;)

Those grenades look nice. The human frag looks like it's had some paint chipped off of it's edges. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that, or maybe I'm just seeing things.

All in all, looks good.

Way too much paint chipped off. Every edge is white. apart from that, pretty nice.

Are they oversized like they are in reach? I think it adds a cool effect.

no oversize, but as we said, feel free to do anything you want to them. If you prefer the oversize, just import and scale. We have no collision of course on them, but I kept them in the same relative position and size of the original grenades so that they would fit non-clipingly in the user's hand for FP.

Pretty high poly for a small object that is on screen for less than 3 seconds.
