Short and sweet: I need a safe download of tool pro that won't cause my pc problems. ALSO note that my pc doesn't have very good virus protection.
EDIT: if there are no non-risky downloads, I need the help of someone that has tool pro. Edited by Delicon20 on Jul 7, 2011 at 06:28 PM

Then I'm afraid you're out of luck. The internet is a very unsafe place, and who knows what's been floating around out there. People who use tool_pro tend to catch diseases and explode years later, if the internet predators don't find and kidnap them first.

It's not the download location that will give you anything. It's tool_pro itself ._.

it is safe, kornman says its just a bunch of files put into one exe, to make it easy to distribute and to protect the edited contents.

Yeah, it was packed with Thinstall (back when the program still existed, it's no longer developed). It was a program for packing multiple files into one EXE (so, eg, I could include all required DLLs for an EXE by using Thinstall to create a wrapper EXE which had all such files in it) plus also protect the file from any un/intentional modification. Really, tool_pro is obsolete now with such things like OpenSauce (though I guess FireScythe and I should probably finish the final build of it for CE so average joes can us it, shouldn't we...)
Edit: just to clarify, the packed EXE is causing a false-positive to occur within the AV software. EXE packers, in general, tend to fire off false-positives in AV software. This is because the AV has no way to actually scan the program's code (it's all compressed, hence "packed") so it can't give a real answer on whether or not it's safe, so it just punts and always warns of "packed" EXEs Edited by kornman00 on Jul 8, 2011 at 05:57 AM

Before you do anything , you need to be aware of something
TOOL PRO DOES NOT ALLOW MAPS TO COMPILE OVER THE TAGSIZE LIMIT AND PLAY PROPERLY. There's a reason why there's a tagsize limit, you know. I've experimented with it before, and all the maps compiled above the limit by tool pro tend to exception upon startup or within one minute into gameplay. From what I can gather, the greatest use of tool_pro is that you can open up these maps which compile over the tag limit in HEK+ and expand different directories to see if there are any redundant tags you can cut down on etc. Correct me if I'm wrong. Correction inbound:
I've used tool_pro twice in making maps, and neither of them crashed upon startup or within a minute of loading. You can go through an entire 25-minute (or longer) game with no issues - and this is through the internet too, not LAN.
Don't believe me? Try it for yourself (here's the DL link): *link deleted by admin*
The .ZIP file may be ~250MB, but I can't give out the seperate map files. The maps that were compiled with tool_pro are AoTCR and Whiteout. Edited by Dennis on Jan 28, 2012 at 03:07 AM

Before anyone has a conniption fit over the deletion of the link to tool pro on this forum let me explain why. Even if the utility you are posting is completely safe as explained by Mr. Kornman the fact that it routinely generates a false positive unlike the known infected versions that have been uploaded here (as evidenced by the varying file sizes) it doesn't matter, because just linking to it lowers the reputation of this website in the eyes of several of the "small" antivirus companies like McAfee and Norton whose internet protection suites will prevent the display of websites having or linking to known infected files to say noting of the problems of ranking in a little search engine of some consequence (Google).
As I said I am not saying that the original program has a virus what I am saying is that, for whatever reason it generates a false positive, it still generates a positive which is a negative for the reputation of this website if there are links to it.

I did not read any of the posts in this thread. You only have 1` use for that utilit, to bypass the max tagsize limit. Doing this will result in random exemptions with MP maps and usually give exemptions in SP also. It is not worth using. try different things.
