If you could use either one in any multiplayer match, would you rather use a h1 pistol or a battle rifle?

Depends on the map being used. But in general, I'd use the Pistol. Much more bang for the buck, imo.

Mm, both are good for precision, but me likey battle rifles.

If Dmr were a choice, i'd pick that, but since it's not, Pistol.

Pistol, i like its simplicity

The Pistol is a simple, consistent, and efficient weapon which takes a considerable amount of skill. It boils the game down to who can control it the best, while taking advantage of power weapons at the same time. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing is debatable.

The Battle Rifle is a random, connection reliant weapon, yet still retains some deal of efficiency. It takes slightly less skill to use than the pistol, but still takes some degree of skill to use. The randomness of the spread and the number of shots hitting the target make it less favorable to the Pistol.

All in all, Pistol FTFW

I like the battle rifle more...but the pistol isn't that bad either...

The battle rifle....I didn't really use it that much...its IMO better that the assault rifle in terms that it has a scope for sniping although the bullets don't travel striaght..it shoots like an assault rifle somewhat....except that it's semi automatic instead of automatic(i think)

The pistol...hmmm...the pistol..I had some good times w/ the pistol...
like the time i killed a banshee with just a pistol(the dude was trying to run over meh)
and when I almost died becuz i ran outta ammo but luckily my trusty pistol saves meh

teh conclusion is that i would choose the pistol better...mainly becuz im more used to it :D

Halo1 pistol just feels /so nice/ anything afterwards is overbalanced and unfun.

Yeah, I kind of want to use an ODST smg on somebody. ptpttpptptptpttpt. Double Kill.

The BR can feel a little bit slow, the dmr, a little awkward, yeah, the pistol feels pretty nice. But I like all of them overall.
