hi. i recently made a biped that will be a player but isnt a spartan. just the other day i finished rigging the model to flow correctly. i, however am new at animating and i dont understand it. i have the model all set (gave her bones and did all the skin editing) and its ready for animation. i just dont understand how to do it. i will give the biped plus a few other tags to someone whos willing to help me with this. i just need her in game holding weapons and doing all the things mc does except for getting in vehicles. vehicle animations arent really actually nessesary for the mod im trying to do. those in the forums who like the game knights of the old republic would be interested in this biped. is someone willing to animate her for me? as ive said il give whoever wishes to help the biped at its final result and i will also throw in a couple other things if they are interested. i would like personally to include that this character is one of my favorites and ive been DYING to get them into halo for quite a few years i just didnt know where to start.

that surprises me a bit!
well idk why but i had to change the bones a bit because its a female character. or at least i thought i did. why would i use master chiefs structure on a female character? they have completely different bodies lol. (this isnt a spartan... i tried scaling mcs bones but it gave me an error saying:

im thinking that it wants me to do new animations. i tried messing with the node checksum. it didnt seem to help. maybe im just doing it wrong? i would like some awnsers and help so this biped gets finished. if its possible id like to use mc's animations. i dont know why it wont let me though. so i figured id create new ones.... someone please get back to me soon i only have 3 days to complete this!

Rig it to the marine's bones. You may run into a few issues with them, but they will be much more fitting for your biped. And don't worry about rescaling, the pilot from A10 is female yet the rig is almost identical to that of the Marine.

If you have the marine extracted from any of the campaign levels, just import the marines gbxmodel using bluestreak, delete the geometry, and leave the bones and markers.

hey um it wont let me import bones from a gbxmodel i just get blue spheres. what do i do?

If you are only importing the bones, you can uncheck the Import Model Geometry.

Can't have verts weighted between more than 2 bones. Set the skin's bone limit to 2, and re-adjust the weights as needed

so by changing weights, do you mean modifying the abs affect? cause after changing the bone thingy (which fixed a few flaws btw) it still wouldnt export... i didnt think this would be as complicated as it is.

NO, that is NOT the error. you may want to rerig that, one or more vertecies are not weighted by any bone (0.0 effect)

You have to just rerig everything, but start with one bone and select all the vertecies. Then use 1.0 weight effect, and start rigging everything else from there. This is to make sure that no vertex will be unweighted. AFTER YOU ARE DONE RIGGING, go into the weight table menu, then go to the first option at top left and select Delete vertecies with zero weight

*insert extreme frustration expression and sound here* this doesent make any sence to me. im supposed to be using a bone set and your telling me to use one bone for every vertecies and... BLECH! all of it is getting way too complicated. im finished with this project because im too angry cause nothing i ever do seems to work the way it should. i thought i was going to do a kotor mod. i guess not. I can help finish this for you if you are still looking for someone. I won't be able to do custom animations, but I can figure out how to get the biped in-game.. I might not have posted many, but I have done a few of my own bipeds in the time I worked with C.E.
BTW, I will not be able to go on Xfire because of the network my college has up blocks it... so... PM me if you need me and I will send you the details on how you can get the files to me if you are interested.

got some bsp im working on.... just so you all know... making a ship.... like an ebon hawk in size but its a starship for the sith as the star forge is destroyed....... also the bastila biped is successful... bastila is indeed in HALO!.... (i did a little bit of editing for her to see as i like) ;)
i need a way to rip opengl to get actual kotor maps into halo.
anyone who finds a way (like dxripper) will be praised... untill then it will have to be all custom content.....
updates? i got some if youre willing to wait......

ive not gottem 3d ripper dx to work to rip from kotor..... it rips bipeds and armor and other actual models but bsp is all opengl from what i heard.... 3d ripper dx unless theres an update i know not about........ might or might not work... depending ont he update.... then i will have to figure out another way..... not that i want this to be a debate. or turn into a debate thread.... (that would be another useless waste of bandwidth...) .... but i have one thing to say about that. why does it have to be.... such that the rips cant be made original with addistions or modifications? also what makes you think that its illegal? if we give credit where credit is due? and we dont sell it? or make it any more easy to reverse enginner? kotor has had a lot of mods added to the games engine.... i find it that many people have already used assets from all the other star wars games and imported into jedi knight.... besides isnt that the point to having a CUSTOM EDITION? "custom = make it what you want." so many other games have had assets ripped.... this forum has mw1 amd 2 content, and star wars conetent, mario, zelda, nintendo etc. all this other stuff already is stuff on this forum.... we see that this is not a problem with mearly porting content... but rather someone being rectal and choosing the wrong place/battle/time to fight..... relax. im not taking credit for biowares work.... im mearly bringing it to other people to enjoy :) now.... does anyone else want to see the biped/content? or are we all gonna start another flame war?
