don't know about you but I for one find the existance of /b/tard styled avatars to be questionable myself. I mean, to me it screams "bring all your obnoxious image macros, memes, and crude, inconsiderate internet humor that panders to children, mentally handicapped, and socially challenged onto these forums, your intolerant, obnoxious attitudes are welcome here"

If I remember correctly, we used to have user-submitted avatars and forum signatures. This, howver, was spoiled by people that are given an inch, and take a mile.

There are plenty of avatars to choose from, one should fit your need alright. If not, go make your own popular Halo modding forum, then you can have all the custom avatars you like.

I think if you want to do this, you should pm Dennis and ask him if you can start a thread for uploading a 50 avatar pack to the site, have people contribute what avatars they want.

I asked him a similar question to this, he said:

"Avatar uploads are disabled"

I think we should be able submit avatars like we do maps, for review before being able to use. Just my opinion.

Ridiculous. He barely has time for reviewing maps as it is, do you really want to burden him every single time someone wants to change their avatar?

He can do whatever he wishes. It's just a suggestion to be taken if he wishes to take it.

I know it won't happen as Dennis has already said he won't approve of user-moderation, however a suggestion would be that trusted users can be selected to look over submitted avatars and approve them.

Would be wise, but apparently he'll lose some moneys if anyone does moderation duties other than him. And pepzee, don't know how pointing out a flaw in a suggestion implies anything.

I there is a flaw in a suggestion then there is a flaw in a suggestion. If he is wishes to take it than he may, flawed or not.

I believe back around when I joined you could upload like and entire pack of Avatar pics, but that was the only way.

Things have changed here ever since I laid eyes on this website. However the real basics of this website have never changed. So in way the more they change the more it does stay the same.

I'd like to see a thread that people would post the avatars they want in, and after X amount of pages, the appropriate ones are put up on the site.

Well, I think that Dennis should choose organised gaming clans and ask them for graphics support. Then these clans could advertise halomaps, and donate a few members to create graphics for halomaps. They could create new logos monthly, new avatars whenever, and help with website coding. These members could be managed by the leaders of the clans(Whom Dennis would have to trust, so they can't be idiots), who would approve each graphics work for the first month or two, and then if none of the artists have made anything inappropriate within those first two months, they will be able to add their graphics straight to halomaps. However, there would be a report button on the edit profile page, so that anyone using graphics, made by the artists, for their profile will be able to report any inappropriate content. And if any inappropriate content is found, the artists would be put back under an approval period, and the ones who uploaded the inappropriate content would be removed from the clan. This would allow clan leaders to punish artists abusing their power, and give halomaps some new graphics.

There are currently over 800 avatars to choose from. This forum will never have individual user uploaded avatars. Period. That function has been disabled.

Avatars can and have been added and I will add them in packs of 50 or more IF they are submitted in Jpg format, are all 65X65 pixels in size and there are no duplicates to existing avatars.

Perfect. I have plenty that are 65X65. I can also convert them into JPG. I don't believe they duplicates either. How do you upload them? Just like you upload a map I assume.
