Hello Iv`e got a problem with tag limit in a campaign mod I`m trying to add brutes tags but I always reach to tag limit. I also tried to use tool pro. but after using tool pro, sometimes it causing exceptions :S For example: when i reach to Captain keys in a10,i`m getting a game exception message. What should i do? Is there any way to bypass that tag limit without getting any exceptions? Edited by Xander92 on Feb 9, 2011 at 02:23 PM

There are two types of tag limits.
The first is the MP tag limit. No matter what, any MP map is limited to 128 mb, even if it can hold more tags. THIS KIND OF LIMIT IS SAFE TO BYPASS.
The second is the absolute tag limit. There is only so much a map can contain. This applies for both MP and SP. For example, if you have a MP map that has more tags than can be held, bypassing the MP tag limit wouldn't change anything. The map would still exception because this limit cannot be bypassed.
Right now, it appears that you're attempting to bypass the second tag limit. You're going to have to remove several tags in order to make space for whatever you want to add.

Masters posted an explanation on BSPs and taglimits a while ago. Think of each BSP as a hollow box where you stuff in your stuff (tags). Eventually, the box will overflow. However, to keep that from happening, you get more boxes (aka, add more BSPs). Note that a10 has far more tags than the stock maps and more BSPs to contain them. This does NOT mean that you can add in random BSPs and hope that the map will contain them. There isn't really a size limit, per say, as I myself have compiled a standard a10 mod with only stock BSPs at 370 MB. However, it's the number of tags that matter. If you try to stick in too many tags, they won't fit, whereas one or two exquisitely crafted tags will fit, no matter their size.
