Well merry christmas. And to the guy who asked for sources, my sources aren't written, and there's not a chance in the world I'm ever telling you where I live, so yeah, I can't give you actual evidence. But I was told by some Christians, Catholics, and Jahova's witnesses I know about these things. Where I used to live, there was an entire family of Jahova's witnesses, and their two sons went to my school. I was good friends with one of them. I don't know them very well anymore though, because I've not spoken to them since I moved house, 6 years ago.
Anyway, merry christmas everyone. Or maybe I should say merry 25th of December so that nobody in any religion is insulted... Merry 25th of December everyone!

I find your avoiding calling it Christmas insulting. And "Some" Christians doesn't mean much, heres a quote for you, "Holy on Sunday, (forgot what goes here) on Monday" sorry i failed with mi quote thar.

People that identify themselves as Christians but say that parts of the Bible are untrue are not real Christian's, just hypocrites.

No, this is incorrect I am just a layman and not a pastor or any part of the clergy. Quote: --- Original message by: Amazingcuziam I might i ask where you stand (religion wise)? Where do I stand? No one has asked me that in a long time and it’s not an easy question to answer or sum up in a few words. I guess you would have to say that I could not be considered an adherent of any religion even though I believe in many of the basic human tenants in most all major ones. So I guess that is where I stand. If you are asking what I believe, that is a different question and a much, much longer answer. I will try to be brief. I believe that each person should aspire to lead a spiritual life, and that it should never be confused as a leading a religious one. I believe that for good and bad religion is a construct of man and a way to answer questions and frame our place in the universe. I believe that some of the worst atrocities have been committed in the name of religion and that some of the greatest kindnesses have come from the same beliefs. I believe that religion does not offer all the answers but only serves to frame our questions. I believe that we should always question our faiths and know that we may never find all the answers nor understand all the questions. I believe in love, kindness, compassion, empathy and forgiveness and that we should strive to exemplify those things and find them in others. I believe we should endeavor to be greater than we are without harming another and constantly question our motives. I believe that we are smaller than we think yet have the potential to be much more. These are some of the things I believe and try to live my life by. I am not always successful and know that it is a work in process.

Christmas to all. Just accept the fact that these Christmas holidays for you to spend more time with your family and to cherish sacred moments. Christmas means different things to everyone, To an infant it could mean presents. To a Christian, it means the birth of Jesus. And to atheists it could mean family time, or could mean presents too. There are many more, but one person can believe in more than one meaning for Christmas, everyone has different perspectives, everyone has different skeptics. Everyone is different, if people believe something because the purely just believe, let them do so. Everyone is different. Edited by Shade117 pro on Dec 21, 2010 at 05:48 PM

I've thought about this debate since I see it alot in various forms. "They're calling it 'Holiday season' instead of Christmas!" "They want to take the ten commandments down from the courthouse!" "They want to take 'In God We Trust' off the dollar!"
Personally, I don't see a problem with any of those. If America in general doesn't trust in God, why should they say they do on their money? Observing Christian tradition even though you don't hold Christian beliefs would be pointless.
Don't get me wrong, I do believe we are all basically evil (not hard to prove on this forum, lol). I believe since God is just He punishes our sins. However, He was merciful enough to send His son to save us. Jesus took the punishment we have earned/are earning. If we repent and place our faith in Christ, we can be saved.
That's what I believe in, not Dec. 25th. Since Jesus Christ is the only way to be sinless before God, I want other people to know about Him. If they reject Him though, I'm not offended and I don't hold it against them. Afterall, Jesus didn't come to judge the world, but to save it.
Anyway, that's my input on this. Merry Christmas!

Woah I'm obviously not going to read all 8 pages, but I can tell there's some arguing and name calling. If you guys can't tolerate Christmas or the real reason it exists, then I suggest not reading this thread. You want it to be "happy holidays", then make your own thread. Hanukkah is over, and Kwanzaa isn't even a religious holiday. As for the insulting, make up or stop replying.
