Since I have recently been dabbling with animations, I was wondering if anyone could teach me how to add motion blur to them. Personally, I love the whole concept of it (not sure why, just makes everything look sexier.)

Not possible in CE, only possible in Max which is what I believe you're talking about. Just select the camera and scroll around until you find a dropdown box which by default has "Depth of Field" on it. Switch to to Motion Blur then mess around with the values down below. Hit "Preview" to look at it in the viewport.

Blurring only happens in shaders. Like the hog tires.

what if you duplicated the mesh and offset it in the animation and gave it the same texture but it a lower opacity? Yes it would be a waste of pollies really and probubly wouldn't even look that good anyway, but It would at least be a crappy motion blur.

Or even planes with FG to transparent gradients that appear in different lengths at the end of the fp objects (i.e. arms, weapon) depending on the speed the object is moving.

OR you could just use an external application to add moblur to your visual experience...

I'm pretty sure you can't add motion blur using Open Sauce, since motion blur is a graphics/render engine property, and is not similar to post processing filters.

Wrong:

Doesn't
work for things in first person though.
