If it is render-only, tool won't give you errors about it, it will compile successfully.

You only need to use the material shader symbols for BSPs. If its just a collision geometry or gbxmodel, you don't need the symbols.

If you want it to be render only for a say scenery, just delete the geometry out of the model and export for the collision.
