You can't model. But you are amazing at drawing or using paint. Well then I need your help. Let's design a bsp!

Now, you can be as random as you want, however, let me set this up right:

Something has happened to you, and your ship. You have no memory of the time before you woke up however everything seems to be extremely familiar to you. As you explore the ship you discover lots about the person you were, what you are, and what you are capable of doing. As you discover this about yourself you also discover that many of the ship's functions and features are shut down, and therefore must turn them on.

The lower you go you go into the storage bays where the environment gets larger and larger. The upper areas of the ship are where the cafeterias and living quarters are. Staying on the main level is where most of the crew does their work unless it's general maintenance.

The player has awoken in the upper areas in a busted cryo bay that malfunctioned. Some of the areas of the ship near the eco-rooms have become covered in plants, in others, the robots maintaining the areas are constantly operating, some helpful, others deadly. Computer terminals and long-dead bodies are everywhere.

With that story in mind, let's begin!

The beginning area looks like:

As you can tell these images need to be extremely detailed... I'm working on conventions so we're not all confused however I need to see if people will join in this project. If you want to Help all you have to do is apply the story and the current work in a new paint document.

The red is an area where if the player passes, is locked until the player reaches a certain progression in the story.

Edit: I'm going to keep updating this whether or not people join, just because I think it is a fun idea.

Yeah, this sounds really interesting. So this will be like a Single Player RPG Campaign?

If you can make this good, you'll definitely get my download. I'd be willing to help with populating the map, weapon and vehicle selection, and gameplay elements of that nature. Gimme a PM some time.

This is an open thread, and am looking for level designers, if you want to help with designing the level and story then join in! I can do it all, but that's no fun.

And yes, it would all be SP and possibly role play.

All you have to do is copy that opening image of the map, and design a top-down view in Paint, then add some words and stuff so we know what you are envisioning....

Mmm... I'm not very good with sketching up layouts. Like I said, though, I'd be willing to help with the gameplay elements.

Sounds like a good idea, story reminds me of the bourne identity i think it was.

Also couldn't you have used the line tool instead of drawing like 10 lines for 1 wall 0_o

Mind showing me more on the line tool? Perhaps make your own section of the map with it, I want to know what can be accomplished with the line tool and that wavy line.

I have a concept drawing of a frigate lying around somewhere that I'm modeling off of. I assume that could be the ship that you're on.

This can be quite easily remedied, by reading the VERY FIRST POST of my thread.

You know, that was SPOT ON. I think whenever I post threads like this, it's that they don't understand what' I'm asking for. This is the "Design A Level (that pertains to the OP) thread" not "I need help modeling a level"

Maniac, can you please help me out here by showing what you mean, because I don't think they will understand until others do it as well.
