Too late homie. I am reviewing the bsp for the map, hopefully soon I will have figured out how to get it lit properly. After that, it's up to the creator to properly populate the empty areas with scenery (I hope, because it's very empty), and then it'll be done or whatnot.

So, any idea on the new release date? I think it is a good idea to make the map perfect, however taking months to do it isn't worth it

If you thought you've waited a long time, I know some people who think that CMT is still working on SPV2.

Shadowslayer has given lightmap fixing responsibilities to me for the moment. While I cannot create anything awe-inspiring like Descent's lighting in this, I can improve the lighting in Solitude with what I have (shader modification is a biggie). Reason being, I don't have the means or the time to modify the actual bsp of the map to produce awesome lighting areas. We will see how this turns out. Stay tuned.

Personally i'm not impressed by the gameplay so you guys shouldn't be too flipped out by it being delayed but it's a good learning experience for shadowslayer to learn ai and such.

OK guys, I have fixed Solitude's lighting. The question is, there isn't much for me to work with lighting wise, so would you guys like the map with my good fixed lighting, or do you want it revamped to something much different, which could take a lot longer? I think the way I have fixed the lighting on the bsp is good, and there are no more super dark areas, and lighting cast from shiny objects is enhanced. Don't expect this to look as if I had designed the map from scratch for pretty lighting, which is usually the only way I am able to pull off hole-in-one lighting in the first place. The lighting has been fixed purely by shader and skybox modification. Anyways...

....lighting does not affect gameplay, unless it has a large bitmap. Performance should be the same.
