Hi there! I have a question for all of you here in the forums.

Is it possible to make Power-Ups as single-use Armor Abilities?

Eg.

I pick up a Active Camouflage, but instead of it activating automatically like it normally does, is it possible to activate it anytime I want? But it can only be used once.

I have this script for my firefight. It is possible, but there's no real way to indicate to the player if they have a camouflage.

The omnipack started immediately after you picked it up. He's asking if you could hold the powerup, then activate it whenever necessary.

You could make it a carryable item, sorta like the tactical bomb. Rather than spawning an explosive, however, it spawns the powerup you need.

I thought of utilizing the flashlight meter. But you can't 'set' your flashlight power.
A rechargable camo would work in the meter, though.

Ya it's possible. Quite easy actually.
Make a biped that's in the form of a powerup. Have that biped get into a custom seat in the player when he is directly above it. Create a script that checks whether or not your flashlight is on as well as having the biped in your seat. If it returns true, have the script attach the real powerup onto the player and detach it.
You could do this with variables, where a number represents how many powerups you have.
But if you need a portable trigger for something, you could use the biped's line of sight. So that's good.

I was thinking of something along these lines as well after seeing that one could swap armor abilities in multiplayer.

But instead of single use it could be like in Reach where it can be used after the cool down period...that is until its swapped for another one....

Method works the same, really. I could delay the effect, or halt it until you press a button.

How would you tell if the powerup was picked up, then? By its heath (-1), right?
If so, this way's easier, but I'm too lazy to test the health of equipment.
