IMAAA FIRING MAAA LAZAAA!!!!

What I am requesting is a deathisland firefight with all vehicles.


If you make it you should include banshees and wraiths in your waves because enemies on foot would be really weak vs the player in a scorpion.

I can't make it myself because I don't understand how to script

There's simply too many nooks and crannies. It'll either be too hard to find the enemies and engage them at a reasonable rate, or too boring, as you stand in one place shooting at them, without utilizing much of the BSP at all.

Keep in mind this is a near-dead modding community, no one really does much for this game anymore except for their own personal enjoyment. Anyone else doing anything worthwhile has already showed what they're doing, never kept it a secret, or are being secretive thinking they're cool and going to be famous (like ASP. Seriously nice "Official" thread, where's the discussion on ANYTHING?)

What happened? Did they actually do this on purpose? I can't believe they stooped so low. I actually thought some of these members were respectable modders, but it turns out i was wrong.

I must have missed this thread , anyway , it was a good thing too, I might have joined in the fun.
Death Island firefight? I don't really see how it would be good for a firefight , unless you blocked off the teleporters leading to the area on the top.

you get the top, witha sniper, with a banshee and maybe a warthog or ghost, and spam hundreds of elites and grunts and hunters on the bottom. who cares if they have a horrid framerate . lol.

actually If you were crafty enough you could use trigger volumes to sense where the player was (going) and have a script to spawn the AI units... and if you choose that solution then the player will never run out of AI to kill...


Edit:
The code for one of the trigger volumes could look something like this:

(script continuous AISpawnSensor1
(if (volume_teleport_players_not_inside <trigger_volume> <flag>) true)
(begin
(object_create_anew <object name>)
(object_teleport <object name> <flag>)
(unit <object name>)
; Insert AI code here

That should work. Just replace "; Insert AI code here" with the code for your AI.

OT: is there a firefight with endless waves and ALOT of enemies? not just a few? (not SUPER hard, just kinda challenging?)

not that I know of...though I think I'm gonna try to make one at some point...it'll be a while though, I have too many projects at the moment (halo scripting utility and a mod of New Mombassa for Cops-N-Civs).

wow I wasn't here for a week and now i'm back and I see this spam war lol.

I tought a firefight on deathisland would be cool because it is like lost platoon but on hce you can add custom weapons and new enemies like grunts in ghosts,elites in banshees, etc. It would be more difficult than ODST firefights.

Large scale, full-map firefights DONT WORK. I can't tell you ENOUGH how this doesn't work. Firefight-portent is a good example of a working firefight: you stay in one spot.
