hi,

As the title mean it, I would like to know if the creator am ambush used a script on his map to be able to make the red team player spawn as a counter-sterrorist, and the bleu team spawn as terrorist... (the look is different...) How the hell he did that?

The biped's gbxmodel contains two permutations, one for counterterrorist, and one for terrorist. I believe they detect which part of the map you spawn in (blue or red side), and switch your permutation accordingly.

surely you could use this for an invasion style gametype, maybe not spartans vs elites because the perms would screw up...

Has anyone else ever actually tried this? It works. Just rig an elite.

Rig an elite to spartan bones? lolno. Why? It's incredibly ugly. Elites were never designed for spartan animations, nor should they be forced to use spartan animations.

I am not talking about this, my question is would it be possible, for the zombie mod, tu have mastercheif in red team, and the zombie (human flood) in bleu team?

Judging from your post, you're either trolling, or you have no understanding of the subject we're discussing. I'll assume the second, and explain it for you.

Basically, every model is allowed to have permutations, each with a different appearance, AS LONG AS the rigging is the same. The concept which I detailed above was a biped with two permutations, both a counterterrorist and a terrorist put into one. Depending on which team you're on, you'll assume the role of the respective permutation.

Now for your request, it simply isn't (easily) possible. Why? The cyborg biped and the flood biped use very different rigs, as is apparent from their animations. Thus, the two cannot be created as permutations in a single model, and my idea outlined above is null and void.

TL;DR

Not going to happen anytime soon.

We played around with this for a loonnggg time. We got it to work (assigning a specific model to a team, granted it was the same rig as gamma explained) however it only worked for server side, meaning whoever hosted was the only one who saw a difference. Anyone else would just see randomly generated permutations. We talked to rec0, tiamat, and whole bunch of other people and a no one was capable of getting this to work properly. As far as we know, it's not possible for it to work for everybody, not with scripts anyway. OS might help in that area. Again, they need to use the same rig.

Permutations are generated client side not server side. That is why no one has been able to make it work. The game was not designed to handle 2 different models and permutations do not sync. I do not believe they can be synced using scripts.
