As you know, you can now no longer play halo 2 mp.
i find this odd because halo is far older and still has multiplayer. Can some one explain why?

it's Xbox live for original games that's shutting down. I find it stupid they're unable to support it personally...saying it'll free up space for other spot is totally ridiculous.

It's so we can have more than 100 friends on our friends list, among other things.

Halo 2 Vista Servers are different, there all dedicated on someone's PC, aswell as the matchmaing servers. and its uber-tech upgrades gets rid of the old H2 feel.

whod oes? everyone who played halo 2?

btw the reason they're shutting down halo 2 for xbox's live is to "free up space" for Reach's MP.
there's only 2 games on PC so it doesn't matter to them.

Incorrect. They are removing the old Xbox Live (this also removes Halo 2 Xbox's Multiplayer) because it made the 360 have a 100 friend list limit. Removing it fixed the problem.

Who does? Everyone who played halo 2?

I think so, everyone who played Halo 2 online that is (don't know if that's for people with an xbox 360, and if you have played before a certain date, but all my friends who played Halo 2 on the 360 a few months ago got it.)

Businesses don't think that way. Why waste the money getting new servers and space when you can cancel support for an older product and allow room for newer ones therefore forcing all the people who used the older product to have to purchase the newer one. It's all just marketing and a cheap way to make more money.

uh, it's MS? They can add whatever the hell they want to their servers. Even if you were right, they would need to buy more server space anyway, whatever XBox1 is being kept alive on probably isn't much at all, in fact it probably is only a small fraction of the extra space they'll feel they hypothetically need.

You're speaking like you know how everything works in a real production environment. You have no idea why they dropped it, they most likely had many reasons, obviously some they're not going to tell the public. A main one being they probably don't want to support obsolete hardware (xbox 1).

look they probably ended it mroe to get ppl onto Halo 3.

Which makes more money for them because a copy of Halo 3 is still more expensive than Halo 2.
It's all just to get more people to use Xbox Live the way it is now.

They're a business. A business makes money in a free market economy like the one we have. MS is one of the most successful businesses in the world and is a perfect example of what a free market economy is about.

Simply, The Original Xbox's live system has hardcoded features that limits the Xbox 360s to new features that would come, therefore removing Original Xbox Live, allows newer features, such as teh bigger friends list and IP-TV.

Also I heard rumors of a new dashboard next April (2011) Like Blade System>NXE>New Dash

Why the hell would anyone need over 100 friends anyway? Unless you're some kind of noob who has no life and asks everyone on live they meet to be their friend.

Oh the USA, where social networks are established via the internet
That is because our smaller states are larger than Beligum. At only 30Ksq km Beligum is smaller than New York @ 141K Sq km. This is one of those times were size does really matter.

Go AppleBox!!!!!

They tried that. Apple teamed up with Bandai back in 1995 to attempt to make a game console called the Pippin. As you can guess, it didn't go so well. Apple hasn't tried to touch the gaming market since then.
