I don't need it at the moment, but thanks anyway. Edit:I also tried disabling other features located in properties as well as running in compatibility mode, but no cigar. Does it run at all, or just freeze when you right click?

You don't know what UAC is, do you? Keeping it on doesn't protect you from being hacked. It merely warns you whenever an application tries to run. Though, it is recommended to keep UAC on at default level, at the least.

I find it very annoying. When ever I try to make a new folder in my Halo root directory it says, "ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE ATHORISED TO DO THIS?''

Yea, it's very annoying, but the computer can't distinguish between viruses and normal files, so it alerts you when anything wants to run. Edited by Gamma927 on Jan 8, 2010 at 08:33 PM

It's nearly impossible to replicate two computers wherein if one app will run, the other will too, and vice-versa. In short, just because your PC(or anybody else's you[or anybody else] tested it on) can run HEK+ on Win 7, doesn't mean it'll work on other PCs with Win 7. Anyways if it was sarcasm then you should've included that beige stuff.

It doesn't start at all.
And I'm using a x64 Windows 7, so that's probably not it.

64 bit computers have lots of problems running certain things, the most known case being flash player, but windows 7 64 bit can run that as my friend has it and can run HEK+

You can technically run HEK+ using an aero theme. It'll just freeze and crash when you right click or attempt to use a menu. It should still run though.

oof. That happened to me all the time. If anyone else has this problem, go into the HEK+.exe properties and somewhere undey the compatibility tab, disable visual themes.

That doesn't solve his problem. His problem is that it crashes on start, not that it freezes when you use a menu.

Quote: --- Original message by: Ro0ster I find it very annoying. When ever I try to make a new folder in my Halo root directory it says, "ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE ATHORISED TO DO THIS?'' This is a permissions and safety issue with trying to create or write to any file or folder in the \program files(x86) or \program files directory tree. There is no reason other than during an install for programs to write to anything in those folders, with the exception of some legacy windows programs. Vista and Win7 are much safer to operate because a standard user does not have permissions to write to those folders. DO NOT disable the UAC. Login as the administrator and change the permissions on the \program files(x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition folder to allow you write permissions when logged in as a standard user.
