I'm pretty sure I don't need to say "Don't get your hopes up", the fact that most campaign plans fail before they're started is a well known fact in these here forums so you're welcome to just ignore everything that's typed and say whatever your little hearts desire.
So me and my friend thought to start making Halo Wars junk and get it onto Halo Custom Edition. From the bases, to simply scenery, to the units themselves. There's just a one little big group of problems. He can only model and animate, and I can (barely) make a field from scratch. So, we basically need people for help with everything else.
What do we have thought up so far though?
Nothing
Except the fact it takes place before Halo 1, will (hopefully) be including content from Halo Wars and other halo-related crap, and that something epic should happen.
We is geniuses.
I don't know a whole lot about how things work in the more refined long-term ways. I just know if you can show something good, and/or that's not a bloodgulch remake intended for usage as something other then a test make, then people get interested. Neither me or my pal have anything to share yet, aside from basic concepts. If you'd like to help, great, if not, that's fine. But, as I've said there isn't enough skill between me and him to so much as make anything from scratch.
So yeah, comments? Offers to help? Opinions one might consider negetive?

You could make a level where you play as the covenant who are only just realising who the UNSC are. Or something like Planet Reach?

Considering that fact, it just goes right back to saying your statment "Most campaigns fail". I think I've said this a bit too much this week, but, seriously, learn more yourself before decided "o lol ima gonna makes a team to do stuffsa for me cuaz i can't do anythang elsez!!". Let me go get my rant from a couple days ago. Quote: --- Original message by: Higuy I highly suggest working by yourself, and learning to model and unwrap better. From what you've showed us, your no way in capable of doing something like this. I've only seen Penguin, and H3MT do this and be successful at it becuase the person and that team both are very experienced at doing things in halo and have been working with the engine for some time now. I suggest this highly becuase as of now, you need to learn to model better, make better organic things like cliffs, and such. Please don't take that offensive, but that exactly what I think. A team will also drag you down and you won't be able to do everything you want, even if your the team leader. You still need to make compromises and your team needs to work together. Most team's fail at this, and oftenly teams don't complete anything becuase there members are inexperienced or they took something way to large on to complete. Especially a project like converting Halo 3 things to CE, thats going to take alot of experience and people to do this.
tl;dr
Work by yourself and get better at Halo map making before taking on something so large to complete. Practically everything still apply's. And if you do get a team together, and some how manage to get work done, heres another suggestion. Discuss EVERYTHING you do with your team. Your team needs collaboration, and they all need to put there effort forward. Learn from each other as well. Maybe you can't model well but someone else can Learn from em. Discuss gameplay, discuss character design, discuss the story. Everything. Collaborate as much as possible and compromise to the bring the best of ideas towards the full project. Make layouts, test gameplay, build rough drafts, fix every last bug found to make it just that much more polished. And yes. I'm serious. Edited by Higuy on Dec 12, 2009 at 09:02 AM

Get a plan. Think things through. If you try to finish a campaign without knowing what you want the finished product to look like, it's not going to turn out well.

Alright, well, my friend is sleeping so I can't pester him to start working on the models. We'll get what we can up when we're able. And I'll start working on the script, I guess you'd call it.
Thanks for the replies.
