I forgot that most of you can't even read a script. Look at the script I posted. Do you know what it does? No? Ok. Lemme explain it. It just continuously keeps creating AI, and it'll never stop. That means, I have an AI encounter here. It'll keep duplicating, at a faster rate than you can kill it. Eventually, either the game will crash, or your computer will lag like hell.

Mine fried just recently, actually 9 days ago precisely. The monitor started flashing like that "SEIZURE" .gif Dunno what caused it though, wasn't doing anything too graphics intense at the time. Edited by UnevenElefant5 on Dec 12, 2009 at 05:24 PM

Quote: --- Original message by: Gamma927 Put it this way: The amount of detail for one panel, that would be duplicated too many times was simply too much. You can add detail in ways other than modeling them on. If it was just one panel that people would stop to look at, it might be different, but the panel is supposed to be as unremarkable as the hexagonal tiles in my bathroom (not insulting the model, just saying that it's not necessary). Imagine a50, with every single hexagon floor panel having an extraordinary amount of detail. I bet a quarter of you didn't even know there were floor panels in a50. I thought that those were bump maps.

they were bumpmaps
and yea i sent L0d3x a map and when he tried to play it, it killed his laptop's graphics card
oh and in crysis you wouldnt even have to look at the AI cuz 200 of Crysis's behaviour and pathfinding class's running at the same time would be rediculous Edited by theflea on Dec 12, 2009 at 06:32 PM

And besides, it's a performance test, not a crashing mechanism. Edited by PX173 on Dec 12, 2009 at 07:59 PM

It's a performance test to see how long you can last before the inevitable end.

k i dont even see what the argument is here... if you want a graphics performance test, just try to run crysis on high. if you want a CPU performance test, see how fast your system will calculate one million decimals of pi.

I actually once made a program that did that once. I probably still have it too lol.
