Has anyone tried making a titanic model for CE? Like in Crysis?

Creating a titanic model for Halo CE would be full of polys.

and there's just not enough life boats for all those polys.

i don't think the titanic would be as cool as you think in CE.

Actually, It's not a bad idea. The model doesn't have to be to scale, but It would be epic fighting on the Titanic on iconic places like the deck or the Grand Staircase. It could make for some very cool stategic warfare. This idea shouldn't be tossed down the drain straight away.

Boiler room. Can't beat the boiler room. But the staircase idea IS really cool too. Maybe if a couple maps could be made.

Being in the Boiler Room could be like a slow flamethrower; stay in there too long and it could kill you.

Sort of like the script of the power drain only slower.

Maybe make it so you have to keep finding overshields and health to get back to normal and you have to fight at the same time. Now that would be intense.

I attempted a sinking ship map a while ago. Unfortunately, it had to many errors for some reason, however the entire map model was completed.

Maybe you can have the model of titanic moving slowly?

Would not work. BSP components cannot move and moving scenery does not work very well in Halo CE's engine due to lack of decent physics.

What you would do to create the illusion that it sailing, you would create a small bitmap above a water plane that would be animated in the shader. It would look like the water was being spread and moved back. All you would have to do for that is make a bitmap (or use an existing bitmap, like waterfall from timberland, and edit it), and create the appropriate shaders for it.

Yeah, thats all fine and dandy, but tell me, how would you have floating icebergs and stuff come back and loop without the player noticing it just "disappear" .

I misunderstood. Your wording made it seem as if you believed that everyone who was riding on the Titanic had died in the tragedy.

Thus, your post was completely pointless. Humans die when they get old. If you don't know that, then you've obviously had no human contact whatsoever.

What! I thought it was like only a couple decades at most into the future! Not like 68 years.
