Actually, there was an achievement in L4D called "Akimbo Assassin," and the credentials were that you could only use pistols, and Left 4 Dead came out before mw2 :smug:

Anyway, if anyone would be kind enough to send me a death barrier script, I can upload the Public Beta.

an idea for you, it seemed well to work in halo 3 ODST, is to let us free roam, and after every few waves restock ammo. restocking can simply be added in via scripting. But i forgot the script for the death barrier

i also added 1 extra command... "or" it means the player has to do only 1 of these things. In this case it's entering triggers. the only advantage in this scenario, is if he wants to have a curve effect with the triggers. instead of just 1 barrier at the front...

and Corrupt, if you want me to make it have a 3 second timer on it and if the player is still in the trigger after the 3 seconds, to kill. or do you want me to let you have my or KingNick220's evil script with no timer?

I might not add barriers in the final, but that's only because the final will have a LOT more stuff than the beta.

what is this copy and paste you speak of? I actually review scripts people send to me so I can understand how they work and use them later.

...you copy and paste a new block for a new second. The HUD message part is repetitive, but since I have no clue how to get arrays to work in scripting, I'll have to make do with creating a new if clause for every new second. And yes, I'm a very ugly scripter, as I don't optimize most of what I write.

I meant that I try to understand scripts before I use them, in order to modify them for playability purposes to make the map as enjoyable and to it's fullest extent of fun (or as much so as I can make it) for the player. Otherwise, what's the point of playing the map?

Beta should be released before christmas, I just need a few more scripts:
A script that prevents you from moving at the end of the level.
And a script that fades your view to black.

Why, I might just have said update...
I uploaded the public beta to the site, so it'll be up next time Dennis updates.
However, I've already given it some MAJOR updates that aren't included in the current beta:
Beta has 10 waves, final will have 30.
Added more weapons.
Added a beginning cutscene.
Put in some ammo and checkpoints.

On to the different wave types (only the boss and normal wave types are included in the current beta:)
- Normal wave: Standard Covenant foot soldiers; progressively get harder and more numerous.
- Boss wave: A wave including a type of Boss (such as a hunter or zealot) and a few backup enemies.
- Vehicle wave: Enemies get in vehicles and on turrets. This will be the only part of the map that will deviate a bit from the original combat evolved tagset. Also, anti-vehicular weapons, turrets, and UNSC vehicles will spawn at your base for these waves only.
- Flood wave: Rather than fight the covenant, you'll be fighting a LOT of flood. These waves are few in number, but will ultimately test your skill.

I'm working on a little ViDoc/video right now, so please be patient.

I haven't even played it yet, but it's probably catered more to gameplay than mine. I'm sure l0d3x would agree that mine was more of a test map based on the points system rather than an engaging and exciting map.

Ok, A little less intense then b40 but it trades taht off to a measured gameplay.

Anyways, when the final is out, it might not be as good as b40, but I can guarantee it will be better than Rio_firefight!
