Just remember, no scenery yet (minus 2 items). Lightmaps and shaders are temporary. And due to the 8 year old rendering engine, some errors occur which I can do nothing about, plus my limited portalling knowledge.

EVERYTHING in this video that isn't part of halo 1, was made from scratch.

Also the redish glass on the hanger roof is just because of a really quick shader. will be fixed soon

Yes, very nice work. I like the Classic weapons but I know this is just burning in peoples minds. Will there be a Halo 3 version?

"I don't know how" does not count as an excuse. Learn or let somebody who knows how do it. Not adding portals will make the level %20 crappier.

I spy with my eye a bad generation of mipmaps on that chain link fence.

If you rushed your shaders so fast that the glass came out red then I don't know how much I'll want to see the rest of the level.

Please don't add another stupid billboard. They are stupid and ugly.

More crit when I get back from school.

I'm not saying the project is bad, I'm just saying it doesn't look too good right now. Fix it.


You should keep in mind that all of the level is custom.. excluding default weapon tag set. So tbqfh it looks pretty damn good, and Penguin said limited knowledge of portals, so it does have some.

Who are you to be demanding him to fix things though? If you where a well known member I would have some thought about your opinions but I have never seen any of your work and I have not seen much of you. You should change your tone boy.

And I see no problem with a bill board, not all of the level has to be seiouse.. what happened to the fun side of games? Easter eggs are better than a simple boring level.. (Not saying that the map is boring btw).

Just change your tone when giving crit instead of coming in here demanding. Because I personally do not have a clue who you are.

Weapons and pelican will be sent to you tonight penguin.

Heres a thought, half the people here cant make a freakin good map and the game engine is so sh_itty it doesnt matter how much effort you put in this game. It will not turn out the best. Let me address these issues. There are portals in the map, without them you wouldn't see half of the faces there. However, NO ONE so far has been able to portal this map without it being a pain. Arteen even tried and it got fussy. The portals in place right now are the best they've been so far have very limited distance and face clipping.

As for rushed shaders, you don't have any concept of testing do you. The shaders were quick because I was more so concerned with the appearance and scaling of the hanger than I was with the shader. Tackle one issue at a time, don't perfect everything the first time around then you run into other issues.

And yes, I'm glad you noticed the same error everyone else has noticed in the chain link fence, good job opening your eyes.



I'll add a billboard if I damn well please. Did you put 2 years of effort into an unpaid project? No, we put the effort into this, and connor wanted to host a community billboard so we. Cry more about it while I go deal with more important crap.


Also this is a Zteam project. I did the model and UVing, Connor did textures, and CAD, choking and shadow are doing all the tags for things like brute popups, shaders, powerups, etc

looks good so far
some things I think that would look better is changing the "orangish" dirt detail on the cement down were the over shield is to be a bit less orange, it looks like sand, and the pit is located in a junglish environment (unless your changing that) the other thing i noticed is that the shaders of the metal (a generic one, its applied on the beams) could be tiled a little more imo and the bump also looks a bit odd one some that texture (being little cracks, etc, and your still working on the shaders I know)

otherwise, turning out nicely, I see you still have the jungle and sky left to do though.

Conscars will be doing the skybox, he's working on that now I believe.

There will be a strictly classic version, but with new weapon models/effects, as well as a Halo 3 version. That way those who don't like one or the other can have their preference.

man this looks awesome you did an awesome job there are some lighting problems in some areas and I personally would have liked a custom weapon set but still nice job.

Last I heard, the tagset is either custom, or modified Halo 1 tags.

You don't understand the concept of proper development, nor do you have the skill to execute such a process.

As previously mentioned there will be two versions of the map, one classic and one halo 3. And everything will remain user created and not extracted.

And most, if not all are going to be custom I think as Penguin wants to use some of my weapons.

I have no issue with crit. And no he clearly doesn't know development because he was complaining about things I had discussed before hand that will be taken care of, however things with a higher priority had to be taken care of first. What he gave was blatant complaining not critiquing. Don't argue this with me.

If you wish to give crit, by all means go ahead. Don't find little ridiculous things that I already know are issues to pick at. Get back to the subject at hand, no more discussion of his lack of knowledge.
