This is the truth.

I know that this is always being said, but I think this community really is dying. Its come to a gigantic maelstrom of massive, failing projects, new inductees to a super old game modding world, hyper-activity, and immaturity. It seems to me that everything is slowing down to a close, and instinctively everyone is trying to keep it going by starting projects or ignoring it, but IMO The End Is Nigh.

eh I think its more of like a temporary slowdown. There are alot of projects that have taken a long time that will be released pretty soon so the community isn't completely dead.

This has been said before. To be quite honest, I don't really care if it's dying. This is just a pastime, a hobby. I continue to map because it's fun, not because the community demands it.

I figure it's going to happen sooner or later so why worry. Just do what you can in the amount of time we have left. If this community lives on for a few more years, that's great. If this community died right now I wouldn't care. I'd just continue mapping and talking to my friends on xfire.

The only difference is if the community was dead, I just wouldn't release anything, and I'd just give to friends on xfire.

If this community died I would actually learn how to mod different game engine.

After 5 years of the exact same argument, over 12,935,010 downloads, over 4,300 files and maps and a average of 9-12 million page views a month with 6,000 to 9,000GB/month in file transfers, I tend to think not.

From my perspective nothing has changed except the screen names.
