I did, and I was impressed with just about everything it says it can do, but it did say that it can make servers visible to ONLY people who have sauce, does that mean it is client side? and if so, why isn't there a download on modacity?

You have all these amazing maps made, but instead, lets have fun in Blood Gulch 24/7 servers or some hugeass servers.

It is not Opensauce, however, due to the nature of both apps. Oh and i will personally make sure no bg or overdone map works with the yet unnamed ai project. Expect a thread on Modacity in the near future.

Thats' why they go with everyone else. It's because they are illiterate and need other people to decide what maps they should play. It's these people who I hate the most in life other than the LGBT community. If we were to actually SHOW them how good the maps are. Then they would most likely try other maps out there. I'm thinknig about doing a montage of a number of maps not being played. To get people to play the other good maps that are out there. ok then. Point taken. PS, don't call me illiterate. I ain't one of them. and, i ain't ten years old. I am a lot older, thank you VERY MUCH. anyway, i will see what good maps are out there, and add them in. is that better? oh well, i will start with immolate..... No, but seriously... We need more good maps out there, people who used to make amazing maps need to get back in, and CMT, in my opinion, should work more on multiplayer maps rather than just SPv2 all the time. I remember when that first pack CMT released sometime after SPv1, those maps were everywhere for a while... now the only one that is played constantly is snow grove, usually with some stupid zombie game type or whatever.

maybe we could get rid of the original mapset from the CE download.
then...if they want to play crappy maps, they have to download them separately or use their tiny minds to convert the PC maps.

Too much work, people would cry even moar onoes tears r slippy!!! too much work for them, good for us....i mean, seriously, what's the point of even having those maps? they don't affect anything in the game. all they're good for is wasting the time DLing CE just to play PC maps!? I'd be happy to fix it up if it was going to be used. maybe even replace the old maps with custom ones...then no one would cry....except maybe the ones who wanted their maps in the DL but didn't get picked.

OpenSauce is not yet released, as a final version. There are two beta's released so that kornman can gather problems people have and get them fixed.
OpenSauce does not need certain maps in order to run, it will work with ANY map. Although in future maps people may script in open sauce functions which will only work if you have OpenSauce installed. E.g. gravity. (dev mode command; "gravity 0.01"")
This topic isnt for you to ask these silly questions about OS anyway, go to modacity and read the threads about it. No, don't make a new threads saying "o, wat is dis open sauce thingy?". Read the topics on the forums which actually explain what it does, and tells you how to install it, and where to download it. And read all the pages if you want to know what it can actually do.
-----
And coldsnap and hugeass are both failure maps, in terms of design and gameplay. But they are popular because they have content like the mythos, longsword and pelicans which everyone loves because they are big and powerful.
If custom maps where made which contained those kind of vehicles, and had good gameplay, then I think people would play them alot. Because it isnt a matter of dropping random nukes on the floor.
Some good custom made weapons would be good as well, most custom made weapons make the gameplay unbalenced... like the sniper rifle on coldsnap which would hit the ground near you and send you flying... wtf was with that? (Yes, its cool, but wtf?).
I am hoping to someday get my tagset done, with quality graphical and functional content. Then I can work on maps with custom weapons :) And before you say it is all just going to be Halo 3 remakes, well, you are wrong. :) Edited by anonymous_2009 on Sep 15, 2009 at 09:08 PM

Hmm... I think i could go along with my idea of presenting maps like the way they do in halo 3 Forges. Since there is a lot of discussion on which maps are "good" in terms of gameplay and content, there should be ways to inform people on what maps should be played. -Prepares for negative comments-. Also, a team of 4 people would be great. But with school and all, i'd be pretty hung up on projects for consumers ed.

Install OS (back up your d3d9 dll first) then go into any map and press the ~ key then type gravity .0001 or something. This is the d3d9 dll in your hce folder, however.

Makes me Mad >:( question: if i have an old computer, do i have to pay anything to set it up as a 24/7 dedicated? because i have my old laptop that ran halo with sub par graphics (because of the graphic card), and an old desktop that cant run halo. im pretty sure i can still use them both and set up dedicated servers on them. how nice would that be having two new 1.08CE servers running custom maps located in Rhode Island where NOBODY ELSE lives.

as dennis said, there are no current maps that must require open sauce to run it. one of em should be the cmt spv2, which allows boarding (i think) if u put it in. however u can still run it if u dun have open sauce.
