When I tried installing the official version (FROM HALOMAPS.ORG) of HEK something strange happened. I didn't even click anything and the installer said installation was complete! I looked everywhere and I couldn't find any of the HEK files. Can somebody please help me?

Hey hider!

You should go into control panel and click on add remove programs, and see if you see Halo edditing kit in programs to remove. If it is not there, then just re-install.

Where did you download the HEK application from? Halomaps.org I hope.

If not you may have just installed a virus on your system. You may want to run a scan on your system with your anti-virus software.

The HEK stuff should be in your Halo CE folder.

My friend had some problems like that, and his reason was that he didn't have Halo CE installed on his computer, he just copied it over.

do you have HCE installed? if you don't it will not work. Check the HCE directory (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition) for the two programs, Sapien and Guerilla.

do you mean that you downloaded it, and the installer ran by itself immediately after that without you touching it?
you may have selected the "run" button when IE/Firefox told you you were downloading the HEK.
in this case, nothing's wrong.

however, if you didn't download the HEK installer from halomaps and the installer ran immediately after downloading without you touching any button, then scan your system for viruses and malware etc.

I got it from NINE different sites, the first one being Halomaps, and it still only has two buttons.
"Play"
and
"Uninstall"
Maybe I should've installed Halo CE on the directory
"C:\program files\microsoft games\halo custom edition"
because I made the following directory on the D: partition to save space on C:
"D:\Downloads that I put here\Halo\Halo Custom Edition\" Does anybody think that would be the case?

That's normal. There only are 2 buttons. Play opens up the tutorial, and uninstall uninstalls it. Check your Halo Custom Edition directory. Are the applications sapien.exe, guerilla.exe, and tool.exe inside? If yes, you've successfully installed HEK.
