Alright... well first off i would like to state right off the bat that if you could run spv1 then you can run spv2. these configurations are more for those people who want to record the game or what not, but regular gamers could still use this and achieve VERY good fps. (fps = frames per second... its basically how smoothly the game runs)

alright here are the settings.

resolution: 640x480

refresh rate: 60Hz
framerate: no vsync (this setting may cause visual tears and if you dont want that switch to 30 fps)
specular: NO
shadows: NO
decals: YES (Whichever you like...i have mine on YES)
particles: High (Whichever you like... i have mine on high)
texture quality: High (Whichever you like... i have mine on high)

Am running a OLD OLD OLD GFX card and still manage to play spv2 just fine so if you all play with spv2 with those settings your good to go. your choice however

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500

as you can see its really bad you all should be able to do just fine with those settings

alright well hope this helps you enjoy you spv2 experience more

I run my 5200 FX with everything on, everything high, except res 640x480. That works fine for me.

Turning off decals can cause a significant performance increase for some people, too.

This.

I got a GTX 275 yesterday, so I have no framerate issues at all. Though even with my old card I probably wouldn't get any either.

BBQ plugin for halo.

No seriously, it extends the engine, more possabilities, more apps, multi vehicle teaming (fun if other people don't have it, will go WTF) and more

Quote: Kornmann00

So here it is, June of 2009. I've been doing the things I do for over seven years now, kind of hard to believe. First things first, Open Sauce Update #2. Rather bluntly, here are some of the features you'll be seeing with the Yelo and HEK portions of the SDK

Yelo (The part of OS which is ran by the runtime)
* Extending the amount of Campaign missions, allowing you to support up to a theoretical count of 32 campaign missions.
* Menu system a la Battery
* Settings system, with retro support for Battery settings
* Server only: Turning on\off console echoing\file logging for server events (ie player join)

OS HEK (The part of OS which is used by the tools obviously)
* (Tool) Building cache files with Yelo specific memory upgrades
* (Tool) Building cache files with "mod" based shared data files (optionally combined with memory upgrades)
* Selecting a different globals tag to use with your scenario. Requires your scenario to make use of the project_yellow tag.

Two new standard tag groups for use in the Open Sauce SDK.
"project_yellow_globals"
"project_yellow", acts as a scenario extension without screwing with the actual scenario's structure layout.
There may be some other tricks up the HEK's sleeve for you to enjoy too...

Of course whats listed isn't the COMPLETE list. It would be silly to show all of my cards, then theres no room for surprises.

Modacity. Crashes Xfire and several other apps, and it's pretty buggy. But if Halo starts up with it, you will have an awesome time. They currently have 3 builds that I know of, the Multi-Team one, 3rd FOV, and Post Processing.

That, but then again, it's fanmade, so it's pretty inevitable that it would, nothing is perfect.
It's valhalla for modders though, i LOVE the post processing version

pimps the visuals up alot, EXCEPT if you have a bad computer, since it decreases fps logically, so it's a trade-off that needs considering

For all of you who are experiencing some problems. USE YOUR VIDEO CARD'S FORCEWARE DRIVERS!!!!! It's what I use. That boosts my FPS a lot. I used it on my Nvidia GeForce FX 5200. I got around 30 FPS. I don't really know if this is the latest for the Geforce FX 5200 or not. But this is what I have used. It worked WONDERS for me.

Link to download the Nvidia Forceware drivers.

What settings should I use for my NVIDIA 9800 GT? I just want to know what settings, and resolution, and I am running on vista 32 bit, if that matters.

What about decals? lol. And I need to write down my resolution, to see if it is compatible with halo CE...

what about the Frames Per second.. 30 fps, no vsync, or vsync?

Use vsync for a smooth performance. With Vsync on, I hit 60 FPS. I usually lock it at 30, but I wanted to see how high I can go.

vsync caps your framerate with the refresh rate and uses up cpu power.

That is why no vsync is faster but causes visual tears which you can notice if you have a .bik file start up for halo ce. I think am gonna release it just to show you guys tbmt :) and to show you what happens with visual tears if you have your settings on no vsync (note that tears usually happen when something shaky happens like a explosion or what not, and with the file ama release its super shaky.. but its still awesome sauce!)
