It all goes in the user interface. The default one is cyborg.unit_hud_interface for SP, and cyborg_mp.unit_hud_interface.

Wat.

it's more than just the unit hud interface =/

you need to edit:
the unit hud interface
weapons hud interface
weapon master hud interface (important)
ui bitmaps regarding the gametypes
grenade interface located in the globals
and a few minors that you'll prolly discover yourself too if you need it

Lol, i'll post my hud too

I want to make my own halo 3 HUD and i need help on how to make it, like how to make the outline and how to edit the tags, make the gradient and make it transparent, and anything else i need to know, so if anyone can help me, i'd appreciate it. or if there are some good tuts you know of that would also help me greatly, i'd also appreciate that.

Specifie what hud, because i made the Halo 3 Spartan hud, Elite SP and MP version, Oracle hud and the ODST hud if you still count it as h3 expansion or so.
thats 5 huds for just a halo 3 hud

I meant the Halo 3 Mark IV spartan hud, and im having problems editing the tags everything all over the place, can someone show me how to fix errors like the shiel meter being in the wrong spot

Use reference bitmaps so you can measure how much pixels to shove it.
Also, depending on your Anchor you can just think of it as a 640 x 480 image, that's my secret.

And I don't remember that halo 3 had a Mark IV HUD

weapon_hud_interface tags are referenced inside the weapon tag. Scroll down to where the FP model and animations are specified.

......

The visor goes in the unit_hud_interface, in the unit HUD background.

BP was referring to how you need to edit all of those to create an entire HUD.

either 480x360 as a hi res sprite. Or a 1024x1024 as a lo res 2d texture.

Did you compile all the TIFs, and direct them inside the hud_globals and other stuff?

Has anybody else wondered how to put a working slider compass, like COD 4, on the hud?

Similar to how the slider on the sniper scope works. Just horizontal. But you cant get it to point north. It would just be a bitmap.

couldn't you get it to point to the nav point thing, because the swivley thing on the AR display does, if I'm not mistaken.

The compass on the AR is shader made.

So it would be relative to the direction you spawned in?

it wouldn't be hard to add it, but it would be annoying as you would have to place it in every .weapon hud interface you use to keep it there.

wtf are you talking about.

you cannot add shaders to a hud.

NO.

the AR points to a specific direction on the map you've set.

only way to do it is using multitex layers which cannot be taken to the front, many tried, it's not possible.

simply put, unless you're really lifeless and reanimate every weapons for a lousy compass model in your face, it's not gonna happen.
