Gamma's offtopic, and it's his thread, so...

Then the entire community has little or no quality.
We'd hardly be a match for bungie.

You speak of "we", when I prefer to speak for myself.

Ditto.

It's better than 80% of the community. I'd say that qualifies as "good."

So you define quality as something relative, rather than something absolute?

Yes, actually, if you look at PC modding communities, a bloodgulch mod with AR's shooting Rockets, and flying warthogs might be considered a very awesome mod, while over here, we'd shun the creator. So, yes, how good your product is kind of depends on the community you are in.

If those mods weren't ultra-easy to do, yes, we would say they were awesome.

E: And about everyone in the whole community has done a mod like that before... So saying they're awesome is only if you haven't done anything before.

Exactly, since they AREN'T ultra easy to do for some people in the PC modding community, they are considered awesome.

btw, I'm not trying to discriminate against PC modders, though it may sound like that, it's just the first example that came to mind >.>

I don't know have you seen some console mods. The H3 ones are often so utterly pointless, it hurts.

Elefant's opinion: Good = maps based against the map-making community
L0d3x's opinion: Good = maps based against the people who made the game

Both work. We are but map-makers who make maps in our free time. We can't be expected to be superior to a paid group of game-developers. However, it isn't necessarily good if it's superior to a mostly inferior (only a bit of offense meant) group of map-makers.

Heres how i judge maps
if map is less than the word then it is bad
if map is greater than or equal to the word then it is good
if map is greater than the bird then it is bungie

Looking at the chat record, it shows that you're more desperate to keep your post count up. And what's the point of bumping the thread just to say that?

Read the post goddammit. I've heard complaints that the scope is too bright, so I've been tweaking it.
