Since it is not possible in Halo CE to do a remake of the Halo 3 campaign. I was wondering. Would it be possible to remake the warthog run in Halo 3? You know how the ground falls apart at certain parts of the level? It could all be scenery. Maybe have an animated skybox showing explosions in the backround. Would it be possible? I know the size of the BSP is possible. Look at coldsnap. That's huge. There would be no weapons, and no HUD. Due to the fact that you will be in the warthog the entire time. I think it would all be mainly scripting. Does anyone think it is possible to remake the Halo 3 warthog run? (Bring on the flame war)

It it possible but it would be really hard. I can't make maps i can only edit them by the codes and stuff. no modeling. but i do know this is possible.

actually totally possible, use trigger zones to start the animation that it falls down, for each plate a different trigger zone.


it's ENTIRELY possible, but god damn hard if you totally want to remodel it and let it work..

How long do you think it would take? The AI flood can just be the normal Halo 1 flood. Everything would be stock except the Halo 3 spartan biped. Which can be easily obtained. Ultimately it would all be down to scripting.

Everything can be stock, including the master chief biped. Just use Halo 1's

yeah you will need one hell of a script...basically just many (volume_test_object *trigger_volume* *object*) commands, where *trigger_volume* would be the name of each individual trigger and *object* the name of the warthog the player is in. Then just make effects and animations happen if these trigger things are "true".

Isn't the scripting different from each game? Like different commands and crap? Or are they the same?

Halo uses LISP, and your HSC files won't do you any good if put in any other game than halo.

But the halo series basically use the same ofcourse, it's a serie. the newer the game the more options

that will have to be one hell of an animation. Or a Giant folder of smaller animations :O

Hell no. I'm only talking about the actual warthog run. Not the ending cutscene. When you reach the IAC. The screen will immediately go pitch black. That's it at the end.

Ill help you with the cinematic. Its not that hard to convert a BIK file. Plus It'll save you time.

I'm going to assume you meant In Amber Clad. Unless I'm very much mistaken that ship was infested with Flood, crashed into one of High Charity's inner walls, and was destroyed with the station when the latter's reactors overloaded. I wouldn't want to be jumping into it.

The ship in Halo on Halo 3 was called Forward Unto Dawn.

Why is it that in every Halo game, the main ship always gets screwed over?

H1: Pillar Of Autum: Reactor overload, destroyed.

H2: In Amber Clad: Consumed by Flood, crashed into Covenant space station, destroyed when station's reactors overloaded.

H3: Forward Unto Dawn: Cut in half while going through slipspace portal

Halo Wars: Spirit OF Fire: Slipspace Drive used to destroy planet; lost in deep space, with all hands.

Spirit of Fire wasnt lost, they just had to move slowly, since they didnt have a slipspace drive to bring them back home fast enough.

I meant lost in the traditional sense of the word, as in, they have absolutely no clue where they are.

It would be cool if the Spirit of Fire found MC's half of Forward Unto Dawn. The Slipspace reactor is in the rear half of the ship, so there's a way home for both of them.
