I used to have a xp machine and halo worked fine on it but I recently updated to a new computer with vista and halo still works fine but if I try minimising the window once I have the game started to activate trainer or flycam or something, I cant maximise halo again?? The game crashs and I have to restart the entire thing to get it to work again, this never happened on xp, just wondering if anyone else had this problem and if it can be fixed? Thanks.

Are you pressing ALT-TAB? Try pressing the Windows Key.

Aren't you supposed to start the external apps before Halo anyways?

Devtrainer and flycam don't work with 1.08, so that would explain the game crashing, but I don't know why you wouldn't be able to maximize it again.

Typically but there are times they don't work unless you start them after you run Halo... I think thats Vista doing that. Though... I have vista and can minimize it and maximize it without problems. Well on my old vista laptop (which was upgraded from XP) ... my new one I haven't tried it yet.

have you tried opening halo, minimizing, don't open anything else.. then try maximizing. my theory is that it not maximizing is lag from the auto-exception you get when you open hacks..
if that doesnt work, try turning the resolution on halo all the way down.
also, laptops with vista can minimize and maximise halo perfectly, i can.

Halo is an x86 game (32-Bit) and your using an x64 (64-bit) so that's probably a big part of your problem.

Run Halo CE in a window, instead of taking up the whole screen.

i have the same problem. but after googleing i found out there is no need to minimize game to get apps running. open them up before you start CE then press the short cut key to turn it on. Ex: dev turn it on press page up.

Or you could open AllDev, then open Halo, then press Page Up to turn it on.
