Ok so I'm trying to texture a pistol in 3ds max. The grip and triiger gaurd I want to be tan and the mag and slide blackish. I select the faces but it only does one. Help would be apprieciated.

Is "Ignore backfacing" checked on? If it is, turn it off and try again. Also, make sure "Select by vertex" is off.
