Actually they have no side. They are forerunner!
Just that the covenant uses them. Which ugh... makes them covenant? Note that they will help anyone repair stuff |

Engineers are on the Covenant Loyalists' side, but they are peace-loving and friendly with humans, except for Lighter Than Some, who killed a human trying to kill his grunt friend, Dadab. But later he made a kind of a plow as a peace-offering to humans, which later became the Brute Chopper.

Engineers are cute and a race on their own, they're on neither side and merely repair, and sometimes take things that are perfectly working apart, no matter the political situation.
hugaroks are like organic tools in this context, they just let things work perfectly, but i don't want to risk to have one near me when i have a pace maker... ...if he took that apart for no reason... |
