I think this happens because of the weapon's melee the brute is holding acts as an explosion- so if you melee someone with that weapon the biped will fly away as if they encountered an explosion.

No, the original halo energy sword does that. In the original Halo, when you melee'd someone, they would fly away. That's because it created an invisible explosion that "blew them away" (literally [/bad joke]).

Okay I'll check but yeah I think he does that with other stuff>>> Also when the gold elite uses the sword it doesn't do any of that?

isnt it obvious... the brute has an energy sword and ai are smart and automaticaly jump away from a weapon if its really powerfull. have you played campaign before? the marines always jump away from the grenades or even a simple needler or plasma pistol shot.

It because he has a sword. If I set a gold elite with a sword to the human side, I believe other elites that are not on his side will try to dodge his sword too. Just like how they also tend to dodge a hunter's melee attack.

erm...
theres a field for that in the biped tag. if the ai gets too close, enemy ai will dodge. i tryed that on marines with no weapons and super active camo so i know its not the weapon.
