You probably die by having all your units wiped out, like in most RTSs

Obviously. Why would Bungie place a blue grid on the map in matchmaking or custom games? The thing that everyone should be wondering about is what it does or what its for.

This map will be awesome. I'll probably spend longer on it then I did forge.

You could've posted this in the Sandbox topic, you didnt need to make a new one titled "OMG OMG OMG OMG O.M.F.G OMG OMG OMG OMG" Yeah, bungie finally released info on their map after months of teasing the community with cryptic hints and dodgy answers. I, for one, am not too excited about this, seeing as I can do so much more in HCE.

Quote: --- Original message by: XimwatchingyouX Yeah but it's a whole lot easier in Halo 3. Quite frankly I like Halo 3 Forge better than Halo Custom due to it's simplicity with creation. And now we got a map that is potentially limitless (in terms of object/scenery/weapon/vehicle placement) and with even the (rumored) possibility of a CHANGABLE ENVIRONMENT. If the rumor is confirmed when it's leaked/revealed/released, then the only difference between this and Halo CE would be the actual environment/character/weapons/etc. creation and tweaky the behaviors of them.
Almost everything else is available in Forge. Spawning, weapon/vehicle placement, objective placements, weapon sets, leader traits (only seems available in Forge unless you make a script of some sort) and ammo count. Forge even has features that aren't available in Halo CE. Gravity adjustment, V.I.P., Infection/Zombies.....
Quite frankly, I think Halo 3 gets the prize for creation in terms of simplicity and customizability in a short amount of time. Though I will admit, Halo CE has more options, but it's more mind boggling for novices and requires a lot more knowledge on how to actually make new maps and takes a lot more time to make them.
This is MY OPINION. I'm not saying this for everyone! There is a VIP gametype in CE (i think) you can adjust the gravity in globals, and there's that Abyll's Zombie server that rune the IG Brainz app :P

This is MY OPINION. I'm not saying this for everyone! uh man... forge = Sapien with pretty interface + ingame testing instantly + little misc things.....Sapien has waaay more power than forge, even the h1 Sapien does, it has from normal weapon and vehicle placement to AI encounters (squads, etc etc), commands, lightmaps, scenery sfx, script compiling, etc etc. RED is lie, till they show me i can add my own AI elites to high ground or something and the things stated abvove and yes, i know "This is MY OPINION. I'm not saying this for everyone!" also i know that "Halo CE has more options, but it's more mind boggling for novices and requires a lot more knowledge on how to actually make new maps and takes a lot more time to make them." :) about the grid...you can note that grid in that bungie video where the bungie guy was in rats nest with some brutes and AI around (at the end of vid)

i think the blue grid is for scaling because alot of maps ive played as thing out of place.. and the bluegrid helps the player in forge to align the pieces of scenery more neatly and straight.

(im using one i made) but sandbox would be epic win =)

In RTSs generally units are not whats important; it would be unit producing structures, or just structures in general that are all thats important. Some other RTSs have gametypes where EVERYTHING must be destroyed, units, buildings etc Other RTSs have a form of assassination mode where you must merely destroy 1 unit; e.g. a commander

Some other RTSs have gametypes where EVERYTHING must be destroyed, units, buildings etc Other RTSs have a form of assassination mode where you must merely destroy 1 unit; e.g. a commander Since it's made by the same company as AoE (Age of Empires), it's going to be a full assault. But the majority of AoE games had a main base, though I forget the name of it... The Temple was usually where you made Priests and such, but there was one building that was your /main/ building, and any team that destroyed it, gained you on their team and all your buildings became theirs. The same would happen if you destroyed another team's main building; they would become your units/buildings. I'm not sure if it'll be the same with Halo Wars, being it's a console-RTS, but it is possible... I do hope they port it to PC though, because I loved the AoE series, and I'd have fun with Halo Wars... I just don't really like the idea of a console-RTS.

Knowing the general halo comunity, I would estimate about 5000 maps will be made that are entirely made of kill balls.
