Breakn' Stuff to look tough.

well, i've made variations on the models of pre-existing characters but is it possible for me to make my own model, bone set, animations and sounds (like reactions to situations sounds).

I do realize that this is going to take a lot of time but what ever, i've got it.

Post Script: anyone know of any good tutorials for this kind of stuff?

Yes it is possible, but it is not easy, by any means, believe me I have tried. I know there are tutorials on how to rig characters on halomaps also, and an app by Jahrain which helps also.

I've tried too, and gotten close. i'm starting from scratch. i know how to model/rig/skin. I'm just curious if the game engine will accept a whole new character, like how would I make it make noises in response to enemy fire and that good stuff?
btw anyone have a link to that jahrain app?

protip: make sure that your anims will work with the unit in the halo engine BEFORE you make all of the anims and BEFORE you rig the model.
also animation tags have a limit of... i belive its 255 unique animation blocks, meaning you can have a maximum of 255 animations per .model_animations tag.
belive me, i was pissed when i made custom 3p reloads for all of my guns and tried to splice them into the master chief anim set (you know, since he has 253 anims. i put the first one in as a test, and all was good. tried to put 14 more in. not so good D:)

theres a tag on the biped. for that. forgot which.

dialogue tags in the biped tag
