I have one last quick question. Can you use pieces of the halo 2 engine, in the same way that you can use models and animtations from halo 2?

no. plus, you cant use models and animations directly from halo 2, you have to port them into halo 1 format.

I don't know how you would use parts of a game engine in the first place. You would need the "source code" and I doubt Bungie is going to give it up nicely.

Vehicle boarding is not that hard to make, just a few scripts and animations :/

There is a way, but I don't know how to do it. I heard something about exporting the scenario in Guerilla.

i`ll get kirby to vouch for this later , but no i have been doing this for 6 years now and there is no way to rip scripts from a map , or atleast before source there was no way to rip em , with source you may be able to , but dont take my word for that because i am unsure of what source can and cannot do.

I don't know what your planning on doing with them, but there are new script functions in halo 2, so converting from h2>h1 is a big no. It's not like you'll open a halo 2 map and find a boarding script, that's all hard-coded in the engine.

well heres a crazy idea for boarding make two of each seat on a vehicle and wen an enemy jumps in then the current driver gets kicked out. and make that second seat unaccessable by teammates and seperate from the vehicle but connected at the same time (lol is this even possible?)
