Just randomly, right then, in Halo CE, my graphics went absolutely horrid.

As in, unbelievably eye sore.

I played earlier today, around 2-4 hours ago, and it was perfectly fine. Stopped for a while for dinner and homework blah. Then, next thing, I edit the ghost's skin a bit, compile, open Halo, open the map, and my eyes died D:

I checked my video settings, and I found that specular and shadows have been disabled. As in you can't turn them on or off.



Just 2 hours ago it was perfectly fine. In that time, I've checked these forums, read some semi flame war at modacity, talked with my aunt using skype, opened gimp, printed a picture, blah. Nothing that would compromise Halo, or it's graphics.

Any help? D:

Change the framerate to 30-60 fps

But that still wouldn't explain why it would change in all of a sudden..

Possibility A: Something wrong is with the map you compiled, seeing as that was the last thing you did with the game. Does it only do this in the map you just compiled?

Possibility B: Video card (what kind of card?) drivers may have gone corrupt, or the card itself is FUBAR.

I have had the settings change all of a sudden on me many times, i was never able to find out why.

Reinstall CE should fix that.

You really don't need either one, mainly shadows because shadows make everything slower IMO. Specular is cool though and I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to use it. I think it's the map or just CE acting loopy.

Slower on your machine probably. Runs fine at 70 FPS on mine with full settings...

Anyway, try to reinstall CE, that might clear things up.

it disables shadow and specular in safe mode you can fix it by going to the halo shortcut right clicking on propertys and the command line should say some thing like"-safemode" just delete the safe mode

i can play halo ce on high everything and halo looks good but every time i enter a warthog these strange muti-colored ray-like lines appear from the sun and they falsh different colors when i turn the camera

starnge thing is: if i turn off specular it works normaly

Its called natural rays of color spectrum thing. Happens in real life, if you think its serious, post a screenshot of the effect

I don't get what's doing it. It always seems to happen when I edit some skins. So then I thought it was Gimp doing it. But I've closed, restarted, and it still is there.

It went alright for a while...

I just fixed it by deleting a hell lot. My C Drive was full, to the boot. AVG reminded me :D

There is only one version of Halo Custom Edition everything else is a hack and discussions about hacked/illegal software is strickly forbidden in these forums.

Do you have halo PC and halo CE installed? I had similar problems in the past like this.

If you didn't patch version 1 and you can play on line then it is a hacked version because version 1.0 will prompt you to download the update as soon as you connect on-line.

This is not a debate. Version 1.08 of Halo Custom Edition is the ONLY accepted version and discussions of other "versions" or hacks are forbidden.
