Nice video man. I saw the whole video. Keep up the good work. Can't wait for this, it is going to be like the best Legend of Zelda Halo Custom Edition map out there. Anyways I hope those glitches and all like the flag return spam in the game gets fixed. And I also hope that someone or some people here might help you finish this map and people, please keep this thread alive.

I'm currently playing it for the first time (yes, yes, I know, if I had an N64 it would have been a lot sooner, but I had to emulate it...) and could possibly help with accuracy at least. One question: with the Lost Woods (if they're included, seeing how the Sacred Meadow Forest is there they probably are) how are you going to work out the "dead ends" that would boot you back to Kokiri Village?
edit: the slingshot was in OoT too...
Sounds like this'll be one heck of a map...
Will there be music included, or is that too much to hope for? Edited by 0fullmetal0 on Mar 18, 2009 at 08:32 PM

the dead ends warp you back to kokiri through teleporters, yes. and i dont think i'll do the slingshot because it would be like an smg to an assault rifle. a poor cousin to the bow. the music is included already; i have no mic so i can't record external sounds. Yes, there will be music in this map in different locations, for example in the Kakariko Village, it will have its own music of the Kakariko Village just like the original Zelda Ocarina of Time game, and for those who have asked that will there be a future version of the Hyrulefield as Adult Link or the past version of the Hyrulefield as Young Link, well the answer to that question is that there will be a mixed of both versions, but I believe it will mostly be based on the past version of the Hyrulefield as for the map scenery. For the future part, there will be future items the most likely, for example the master sword and all, so there might not be the slingshot as what Cellista had mentioned. Also, you will be playing as Adult Link in this map, so that means no Young Link. And yes, this will be one heck of a map and you don't have to worry about the long walks and all because there will be teleporters at dead ends that are set in different locations of this map which takes you from one place to the other just what Cellista had also mentioned and showed us in his video. You don't have to worry about where the teleporter leads to in this map because once you keep on playing this map, you will know more and more about this map. There will be about maybe 18 or 20 teleporters though, but it's better than long walks isn't it, when there are no horses around you to give you a ride. But there would be horses in this map, so that's a good thing too if you want to explore a little more about the map. Stay tune for more updates about this which will be released soon.

Don't see the point, I think Halo supports semi-linear objectives (I say semi-linear because the marines on Halo could be rescued in any order) but nothing on the scale of Zelda... And besides, if you want a single-player version, play the actual game, either on the N64 itself or grab an emulator and game ROM. I could PM you a location to find each if you want.
And I have a suggestion with the Lost Woods: make the dead ends less obvious than in the actual game (there was a distinctive difference between an "exit" path and one that wasn't, the only trouble with this was it was close to impossible to get to the Sacred Meadow in the future...
edit: I have a slightly lower-end graphics card (think Radeon 7000 series) and could test stability on the map, if you need it. Edited by 0fullmetal0 on Mar 18, 2009 at 11:03 PM Edited by 0fullmetal0 on Mar 18, 2009 at 11:11 PM

in response to the dead ends, i made em more obvious, because they're more like escape routes in a battle situation.
and i might need beta testers soon; also a populator for sapien, because i hate that part >.> Edited by cellista92 on Mar 19, 2009 at 02:18 AM

Yes, there will be horses in this map. To be accurate, two different types of horses, one will be Epona (Link's horse) and another one will be Princess Zelda's horse (The horse that a lady named Impa used to take Princess Zelda away from Ganondorf when the younger Link was having a flashback at the beginning of the game.) There also "might" be one more special surprise for you all, yes that's right, a vehicle that will let you fly across the map based on that Zelda Ocarina of Time game, that means no futuristic vehicles like the jet planes, etc. We will let you know about more updates.

Attention at all Halo Mappers: This post is about the Zelda Ocarina of Time map we are working on for Halo Custom Edition. Cellista, Rambo, Multi, and I are the only ones that are working in this Zelda Ocarina of Time map for Halo Custom Edition. We've made so much progress in this map, but mostly Cellista, Rambo, and Multi are doing most of the work since I don't know how to make a map.
This map has all the following places so far such as: 1) Hyrulefield 2) Lon Lon Ranch 3) Kakariko Village 4) Death Mountain Trail 5) Death Mountain 6) Kokiri Forest 7) Deku Tree + Interior 8) Lost Woods 9) Lake Hylia 10) Gerudo Valley 11) Zora's River 12) Zora's Domain (12 places that have been added so far in this map.)
The follow areas that are currently being worked on: 1) Gerudo Fortress 2) Goron City 3) Great Fairy Fountains 4) Sacred Forest Meadow (Don't know if it's already added there or not.)
The following areas that might be added: 1) Forest Temple 2) Hyrule Market + Temple of Time 3) Path to Hyrule Castle + Castle Courtyard + Interior of the Castle 4) Kakariko Graveyard -Edited- (Sorry if I forgot to mention this place.)
Items/weapons, vehicles, and other features that are added in the map: 1) Epona (Link's Horse) 2) Zelda's Horse 3) Boomerang 4) Hookshot 5) Fairy Bow and Normal Arrows
Items/weapons, vehicles, and other features that might/are going to be added in the map: 1) Halo 3 Weapons (Maybe) 2) Bombchus (Maybe; the bombs that will follow the designated target and kill them with one explosion.) 3) Master Sword (1 handed sword) 4) Hylian Shield 5) Mirror Shield (Maybe; the shield that will reflect gun shots.) 6) Biggoron Sword (Maybe; the big two handed sword) 7) Fire, Ice, and Light Arrows (Each arrows will have its own different effects.) 8) Megaton Hammer (Maybe) 9) Deku Stick (Maybe) 10) Deku Nut 11) The flying vehicle known as the Owl (Which will let you fly around the map.)
Now, we are looking for helpers that will help us finish this map. The more helpers we have, the less time it will take to finish this map. So we want you to help us with the following jobs listed as shown below: 1) HUD Display 2) Animations 3) Model Extractor 4) Taggers 5) People with the knowledge of the map (Someone that knows the game well and beat the whole game.)
So if you are willing to help us, I would really appreciate it, please post a reply here or send a private message to one of us with your Xfire name or any of the three messengers: AIM, MSN, Xfire. Thank you for taking your time reading this post. Edited by SHaDoW LiNk on Mar 22, 2009 at 05:56 AM

Seriously, I read that old post, and I'm not so sure where I was going with that...

sweet now I can play OoT all over again on the PC. Too bad i never finished. I hated the forest temple that game was impossible to me! LOL
If you do add the stick heres a suggestion: make a switch for it so you can set it on fire like the old game (except you had to walk by fire to make it fire) You know it could be helpfull for dark parts or just setting things on fire. If you do do this make sure it disapeers after a while like it burnt down in the old game

-deku tree interior is included -forest meadow also -deku stick will be used for lighting up places -H3 weapons were added because some people actually liked H1 weps on Jahrain's map, but i might remove em; depends on final tagset. -1 bsp, several clusters.
-im considering the night-day effect
Beta is nearly ready for testing
video should come up with Beta testing.

While I haven't fully beaten the game, I have been to all the areas described, save for Gerudo Valley Fortress and Haunted Wasteland (and since I'm emulating i can get to those places with nearly any set of items I'd need...) so I can help beta this beast if needed.
edit: As an explanation to my comment about the "watered-down" version... The most common version of the game had quite a few changes made in it (besides glitch removal and such), such as: Ganondorf's blood was changed from red to green Many Islamic elements were removed The Fire Temple music was changed
Some other things too, but those were the main ones. Edited by 0fullmetal0 on Mar 23, 2009 at 01:32 PM

Bombs, if it's possible, maybe?
And also, what about original variations on the arrows? (wind, which would blow you in a random direction on contact for example)

Make the arrows go farther, and without the gravity applied. Its difficult to snipe someone with it, since it barely does damage.
Also make the bombs detonate faster, go farther, and do more damage.
The bow n' arrow should have a secondary fire, for either the fire arrows or ice arrows.
The ice arrows can stun the player, using the stun effect. The fire arrows can set the player on fire, similar to a longer range flamethrower.

Hm... how about a pickup? You get x-number of shots with the fire/ice arrows (sort of like how your magic depletes when you use the special arrows) before the arrows go back to being regular. Although how you would be able to pick up this is beyond me.
Will there be light arrows too?

Here's a pretty good list of weapons that could be included.
Bow+arrow: Sniper weapon Ice arrows and fire arrows: what Bo said Sling shot: kind of like a BR in terms of usage. Din's fire: A type of heavy weapon, long charge time but when used it creates a large canopy around the player, killing any enemies under the canopy. Megaton hammer: Basically the exact same thing as a gravity hammer, this might be hard to pull off. Master sword: a sword... Bombs: Bombs Lens of Truth: Basically binoculars with a twist. For a short period of time, this weapon would allow the player to see through all obstacles and easily pick out enemy targets. (not sure if this is possible, someone let me know if it's not)
Those are just some you could add in. You could also put in some custom weapons that aren't seen in the games, like a cannon turret.
