I've noticed that with alot of people and myself, the problem of modeling and creating things, is the lack of inspiration. I was recently sifting through some very old threads here on halomaps, and came across a very interesting concept from bungie. This triggered the thought of an inspiration thread for those of you who may be itching to model something for practice or for releasing, but lack the inspiration.

I'll start by posting the concept I found, although it is not limited to vehicles. It can be anything you like; ranging from levels (terrain or structures), to vehicles, to weapons, ect... Just post anything you thought was neat (including your own concepts if you have any),and may be helpful to others. Hopefully this is helpful in inspiring others, being as the only things modeled nowadays are Halo 3 content.

Post 'em up.

This is what I found;
http://search.barnesandnoble.com/The-Art-of-Halo/Eric-Trautmann/e/9780345475862/?itm=1

I highly suggest you pick up a copy, great book of work and allows you to see the visualization of some of Bungie's best work from it's conception. Also it will keep you from posting concepts you've made instead of someone else's work!

Looks like a buggy. A gnarly buggy. I likes it. Similar to the newer batmobile

I want to make one of these

not sure if it should be a biped or a vehicle. It walks and hovers/flies.

mb I should conceptualize an actualizable design, my own, loosely based on it. Thanks Yakz, good tip. I should spend more time with paper and pen

[edit]OH! and a transformer tank. sp only, with appendages being attached devices, to exceed the node limit. I think the scorpion would make a good transformer.
Just an idea. I don't seriously see myself making it anytime soon, but I'm sure it could be done.

How many polies/triangles is that? Does it say, because I know you didn't make that.

That sounds like you thought I said I made it. It shows the copyright on the bottom right. You were too foolish to notice it.

Lightwave 3D 7.5 and 8.0
~2.3 Million Polys (without cannons)
~230 hours actuall work time
~completely rigged, and set up for animation

No, I had just forgotten it was a thread where you didn't always have to show your work, you don't need to call people names.
